Monte's Trattoria is an Italian Restaurant located in the heart of Greenwich Village on MacDougal Street between West 3rd and Bleecker. This vintage Italian restaurant has existed since 1918 and the Mosconi family has continued its rich tradition. Chef Pietro Mosconi delivers authentic Northern Italian dishes from his region of Emilia-Romagna and is often seen in the dining room conversing with patrons. You'll find a friendly cozy atmosphere. The waiters and bartenders, whom you'll know by name, are always affable and ready to please. Dine as a couple for a romantic dinner, a small private party or as a large group while you take in the sites, sounds and tastes of Greenwich Village. Come to Monte's Trattoria Restaurant where you'll be treated like family!

"Old style red sauce Italian. Food fine, not distinguished. Prices are fair to the consumers. Was disappointed in how long the service took and how inefficient it was -- omitted dishes, lack of synchronization, etc. And it is very cramped."

"Restaurant Week dinner - we really enjoyed appetizers (buratini & aroncini) and desserts (mint chocolate gelato & panna cotta), but were terribly disappointed in entrees -- a) capon and pork belly & b) skate wing. Good portions, but thoroughly lacking flavor and the fish dish was overwhelmed by oil. We had long wanted to go here and felt very let down. Restaurant Week menu's only other entree option, ravioli, might have been a better choice. The $38 three-course dinner value would have been wonderful, given that entrees alone are in that price range, if not for the lackluster entrees."

X2O Xaviars on the Hudson is Peter X Kelly’s latest addition to the Xaviars Restaurant Group. It sits in the water on the only turn of the century Victorian pier still in use on the Hudson River. X2O’s Main Dining Salon's 25 foot vaulted ceiling and 3 walls of glass frame offers views of the George Washington and Tappan Zee Bridges, as well as sunsets over the Palisades. Guests encounter dishes incorporating classic French technique with Italian and Spanish influences, and Asian embellishments which create a wholly original cuisine unique to the Hudson Valley. The Dylan Lounge is a vibrant, up-tempo space with a sophisticated and playful bent that offers guests more dining options. Guests are invited to sample a variety of small plates and sushi, while dining at the Communal Table, sushi bar, or at traditional banquette and table seating.

"The view, the service, the atmosphere - all lovely. Most of what we ordered was quite good and some slightly less so. Best dish we had was the delicious salmon main course. A real winner."

"It was 9am, the place was empty and conducive to conversation and a reasonable theater district breakfast. Staff was friendly and food was good."

"A lot of fun, reservations a must, good for pre-theater, but allow plenty of time, because the cook it yourself motif takes time. Food was very good and so was the experience. "Happy hour" pricing good, too."

"We really enjoyed our visit, from the food to the festive atmosphere to the kind staff. Only complaint was that despite advance communications online and by phone, a birthday candle wasn't brought for a celebrant as planned. The apologetic staff did act to rectify it. Only other negative was that the place is VERY noisy, to the point that it is hard to hear people at one's own table. Maybe something can be done to improve the acoustics?"
