"We came for valentine's day and had the pre-fixe meal, which was $125/pp. Not too bad. Add 4 drinks on and we ended paying more than $500 total, after tip. The food was good but portions were small, and my husband didn't even eat his lobster tagliatelle pasta.... and the waitress didn't even inquire about it. She never asked if he enjoyed the pasta or if there was something wrong with the pasta., or if he would like something else since he clearly didn't enjoy that dish. Also, I understand they were busy, but waiting 20 min for the waitresses attention so I could order a glass of wine seemed ridiculous. And, the bread was terrible - it had burn/charred black marks all over the loaf crust! I was surprised they didn't just toss that one and that they would serve it to their customers. I couldn't even chew through the crust..."

Inspired to create a casual Italian restaurant in their own neighborhood, the culinary team behind Washington, DC’s award-winning Ristorante Tosca opened the doors to Posto, “a modern Italian place to meet,” in December 2008. It is located in a beautiful, century-old building (which at one time was a car dealership!) on the newly re-energized 14th St. NW – right next door to The Studio Theater, and just steps away from P St. and its hubbub of activity. As a proud new addition to the Logan Circle neighborhood, Posto serves classic and modern Italian dishes, and is the perfect place to drop in for a cocktail and a quick bite, or a multi-course meal shared with friends. A custom-built, wood-burning oven located in the back of the dining room entices guests with the smells of just-baked Neapolitan style pizzas and focaccia.

"I only ended up going to Posto because Le Diplomate was full for the night. I'd never tried Posto but I was soooo happy I did. They had a notable wine list that stayed true to Italy for the most past and the service was great. I was a tad turned off initially because the place was so empty on a Saturday night... but it filled a little more during the meal which was nice. The food was PERFECT. I have never in my life had a better cooked piece of swordfish - fresh, not chewy, bursting with flavor, no fishiness. It was really a treat. Everyone who tried a bite remarked on how amazing it was. I really didn't expect that coming from this place but happy that was the case. I will definitely be back."
