Authentic, rustic, Italian fare featuring a variety of small plates, house-made charcuteries, breads, cheeses and antipasti. Wood-fired pizzas are also available along with a selection of paninis and salads at lunch, and house-made pastas, whole roasted fish and a premiere selection of meats during dinner.

"Absolutely hands down my new favorite restaurant in DC. The food is amazing and authentic, the handmade pasta is to die for, and I'm so happy to finally have a legit southern Italian option in DC. Great and creative drinks, and love the way the wine list is organized. It's perfect for happy hour, small plates, a group, or romantic dinner. And the owners and management are putting a premium on developing relationships with their regulars and the neighborhood. I went both opening night and the next night and was treated so well I will definitely keep coming back."

Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.

"Jaleo has such a great rep and I've had great times here before, so I was excited for our pre-theatre reservation. Restaurant Week had been extended , but dishes available were abbreviated, so we decided to just order the tapas we wanted. We each got 3, so 6 in all, and of the 6, 4 were really good, and 2 were terrible. We loved the Patatas Bravas, omelet, quail and mini burgers (those might have been my favorite), but the grilled chicken was dull and the greens it came with were actually pretty bad. Saddest of all, the octopus, my favorite food, was overcooked resulting in a really mushy and unpleasant texture to the outer skin. The potatoes it came with were also reminscent of boiled English food, just disappointing."

Ardeo+Bardeo, located in the historic district of Cleveland Park -- four miles from the White House -- is a neighborhood favorite serving modern American cuisine. The restaurant underwent a major renovation in November 2010 to enhance the modern bistro and wine bar, uniting the two restaurants with a 24-seat island bar. Executive Chef Nate Garyantes has crafted a menu which features cured meats, soups and salads, savory snacks, seasonal vegetables dishes and brick oven baked flatbreads. Ardeo+Bardeo has become a virtual “Who’s Who” of Washington. Those who frequent include Madeleine Albright, Jim Lehrer, Alan Greenspan and the former first family, the Clintons.

"I came for the second Restaurant Week in a row, and the options were scaled down this time, leaving a lot of my favorite food off the options. I actually ended up eschewing the Restaurant Week menu and ordering what I wanted - a little pricier but worth it to have the delicious octopus to start. Service as usual was great, and we enjoyed an excellent vino, though I wish there were more Italian options in the wine department. Overall a great date night and we will be back - I can't wait to try their brunch!"

"I love Taberna, I've been several times, trying different foods each time, and it always delivers. I've brought hard-to-please foodies and winos and they always approve. Service is always impeccable as well, I will keep coming back!"
