"I've made "the Doge" as my friends and I call it my pre-theatre go-to for years and years. This time my fiance and I were hitting the 10pm performance of Hedwig, so while we were still going pre-theatre, our timin was a little different. We got stuck in crazy traffic getting in and "The Doge" was totally accommodating and so friendly. When we got there we let our waitress know that even though it wasn't the normal theatre rush hour we were still on the clock to make a show, and she was so goo about keeping the courses and drinks moving briskly along. As always we had a great meal with great service in one of the only actually legit and cute places in the theatre district and made it to our seats well before curtain. We'll be back next show!"

"My fiance and I had never been to Oval Room so we mad e a little Restaurant Week date night of it. The menu was pretty diverse for RW, though as someone who doedn't like mustard or pickled things, I had a bit of a challenge figuring out what to order. My appetizer (the Fluke Crudo) was stellar. The fish was so tender and so much flavor was packed into such a small package! I then had the salmon entree, and though it didn't say so on the menu, the sauce seemed to be mustard based, so I tried to stay a little away from that. The fish was cooked perfectly though and again was very flavorful. Scott had the rockfish which was a little bland for him. Dessert was great, and I was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the wine list is."

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"WHen a friend who moved from DC to SF said she was coming to visit for the first time in a while and that she wanted to try something new, Le Dip was the obvious choice. I felt really lucky to get a reservation for 4 on a Thursday night in relatively short notice and as always, we were not disappointed. My friend and her boyfriend were super impressed with the food and how fun and adorable the restaurant is. We had great cocktails, good wine, and everyone left full and happy. I got the burger which I've been ordering at Le Dip lately, and it just might be the best burger in DC these days!"

TICO, an affectionate name for a local in Costa Rica, is gently influenced by chef/owner Michael Schlow’s travels to Spain, Mexico and Latin America, and was named one of the “Best New Restaurants in America” by Esquire magazine. The rustic space evokes a sense of communal dining with smaller, tapas-style options to share, offering whimsical dishes that creatively blend flavors from all over the world. TICO has a playful, inviting vibe as it boasts an open kitchen with six stools at the ceviche bar to observe the behind-the-scenes action. TICO offers an extensive beverage program including draft and craft cocktails, local breweries and wines from Central and South American, Spain and the US.

"I've already been to Tico twice since it opened two weeks ago and I will be back soon I'm sure. Everything I've tried so far has been delicious. Love all the tacos, the sweet corn is amazing, and the desserts are even good. The service so far has been very friendly and attentive. Tico is a great addition to an already food-strong neighborhood!"

"We've always come to 'the Doge' as my family calls it as our pre-theatre dinner and it's always a great meal. Once again had a solid and fun experience before our last show and will definitely be returning in the future!"

'Owners Mark and Ty Neal--also behind D.C.'s Matchbox restaurants--named the joint after their father, a West Virginian who was the unofficial "cook of the neighborhood." The old-timey throwback feels… like the real deal here; art deco details, like carved marble door frames and metal air vents, are salvaged from the Philadelphia Civic Center circa 1928. Tables--salvaged former doors--are set with folded dish rags and a newspaper-like menu that features comfort food classics such as milkshakes, meatloaf and grilled cheese with tomato soup. Breakfast items such as short stack pancakes and home-made pop tarts are served all day. '- Lauren Sloat at Citysearch about 8th St location.

"Whenever my dad is in town and wants something lowkey we opt for Ted's (so glad to have one on 14th now!) The food is always solid no matter what you order, but it's a more laidback and casual experience than you'll find at many of its 14th St neighbors. My fiance always opts for the meatloaf (because it's always on point), while I've done steak most often which is always on point. This time I tried the jambalaya and it was great, huge portion though, I didn't get through too much of it. The milkshakes are always fantastic, and the servers are all very friendly and attentive. All around it's a top-notch neighborhood spot that we are so happy to have just around the corner!"

"My fiance and I went to FF for our anniversary and to celebrate our recent engagement and we had a great time. The restaurant took such good care of us and our server and the host were very excited and congratulatory - they even gave us complimentary glasses of champagne to kick things off. Our food was very good, I got the land and sea, opting for the lobster as my sea representation. The steak was actually cooked medium rare as I requested (I find a lot of places serve you medium when you ask for medium rare) and the lobster was fantastic. I wish they offered the lobster as its own course in fact, I would definitely order that next time we go. All in all we had a wonderful night!"

"Had a girly brunch on a Sunday afternoon, late-ish after the brunch rush. My gfs were late and the restaurant was very nice about still honoring our reservation, which I appreciated. I waited for them at the bar and it was hard to flag down the bartender, though he was very nice when I did. When we finally were all in attendence and sat, our waiter immediately asked what we wanted to drink, and then disappeared for 15 minutes (we ordered two mimosas and a latte) and did not reappear with our drinks until we flagged down another waitress to find him. Our food was good, I had waffles (solid) and a side of sausage (excellent - came in a little bucket!), not quite on par with Belga though and the restaurant was super smokey for some reason.)"
