Mango Tree serves genuine Thai dishes from each of the four main culinary regions: rich and fully flavored dishes from the North, spicy cuisine from the Northeast, more mild dishes influenced by the Chinese cooking style from the Central region, and hot and spicy cuisine from the South. In each dish one will find the artful blending of savory, sweet, sour and spice which delivers the harmonious taste in each bite, and Thai food is naturally medicinal, bringing health and vigor to the meal.

Those dining at this welcoming, upscale restaurant will enjoy the second floor 140-seat main dining room and the 24-seat seasonal outdoor terrace. Mango Tree also features a vibrant first floor 45-seat bar and lounge for those looking forward to sipping classic cocktails and innovative libations while listening to expertly curated music.

"Like most DC folks I've been looking forward to that area on H between 9th and 11th to be something other than a massive crater. Now that there are stores and restaurants, I have to admit in many ways the hole had more personality than the sterile glass cluster of high-end chain shopping and eating.
Skepticism aside, my fiancé and I did a date night to Mango Tree, and we had a really good time. The restaurant décor is fun and modern, and, partially thanks to the hostess still getting a feel for the lay out and seating system, my man and I got upgraded for a two-top to a cushy booth. It was very cozy. Our server was extremely nice and gave great recommendations on food and a wine I didn't know on the menu. We started with cocktails - the spicy siam and lychee mojito - which were excellent. We also had duck spring rolls and the octopus salad, and we both agreed the octopus was the star of the night. It was cooked perfectly and they were generous with the portion of pulpo they included in the dish. Best of all, it was the perfect amount of spicy. (At least for me - it would definitely be too much for some of my friends!) For a main course I had the lobster pad thai, and it was good-not-great. Again, really generous with the lobster, but the pad thai itself was too wet for my taste - it made the noodles feel over cooked and caused the separate pieces of the dish to lose their distinct identities. Finally, I forced myself to save room because mango sticky rice is my favorite. The rice could have been a little stickier, but I very much enjoyed it with a glass of muscat. While not the best Thai we've had in DC, I think we'll be back - at least for more of that octopus!"

"A few friends and I went to brunch after practically drowning for 13 miles in the very rainy Rock N Roll half marathon. We had an 11am reservation to which we were almost a half hour late because getting there from Stadium Armory after the race was a disaster. By the time we got there we'd lost half our party to the bad weather and train delays. They were so nice to us at the restaurant anyway. And a cup of coffee never tasted so good! Everyone who made it to brunch got fried chicken and waffles and we were not disappointed. The chicken was really juicy and perfectly crisped. I had two belinis and they were also excellent - they did not skimp on the champagne like so many places do. Our waiter was very friendly and patient as we were late. I will definitely be going back to Crème!"

"I'm not sure how much the menu matches the Chaplin theme, but my fiancé and I went before a show at the Studio and had a great meal. We shared the buns and shu mai and each got a different Ramen - and my mouth is watering right now just thinking about that ramen. We also each tried the specialty cocktails - and because we were doing a pre-theatre early dinner, we enjoyed HH prices on them! Our server was very attentive and friendly, and I appreciated her recommendations as well as her HH last call. (We really lucked out on drink prices for the whole meal!) Chaplin is also in such a fun part of town so it's very enticing to go back. My only complaint is that it was cold and we were in the booth closest to the door - which let in a huge gust of wind against my back whenever it was opened. Comfort at door-adjacent tables would definitely improve if a heavy curtain or double door were added there."

Authentic, rustic, Italian fare featuring a variety of small plates, house-made charcuteries, breads, cheeses and antipasti. Wood-fired pizzas are also available along with house-made pastas, whole roasted fish and a premiere selection of meats during dinner. A true Italian experience in an intimate two-story setting.

While making your reservation please be aware that the restaurant provides seating on two floors. On the first floor we have high top tables which are community style seating for small groups or individual large party tables. The upstairs floor is a traditional dining room. Please let us know if you have a preference on where would you like to be seated when making your reservation. We will do our best to honor your request depending on availability of tables.

"When Lupo finally opened last year (just two blocks from my apt) this Italian girl was so excited to have what promised to be authentic eye-tie cuisine so close. Lupo has never disappointed in the food (or drink) department, but what I love just as much as filling my belly is how welcoming the people have been. We've gotten to know management and some of the staff there and it makes every trip to Lupo that much more enjoyable. In a few months, I'm even having my bridal shower there and couldn't be more excited for that experience. As for the food, the menu has recently changed and has some more changes coming up, and so gar so good! I usually gravitate toward the home-made pastas as they are all delicious and authentic, and they actually arrive in human-sized portions the way a primi course should. Also, you can't go wrong with the charcuterie - I imagine meat and cheese will play a large role in my shower."

"A girlfriend and I went for Restaurant Week and were so excited to try this new hot spot. I booked through Open Table's RW site which said that Fiola Mare was participating in lunch and dinner. When we got to FM for dinner, we discovered in fact they were only participating in lunch. All of a sudden the $50 or so we each planned to spend tripled - I'm not sure whether this was FM's error or OpenTable's but it's a problem, and the waiter at FM was incredibly dismissive as he told us. We can both afford the regular menu thankfully so we stuck around, and the food was as great as we had heard. We tried several of the pastas and indulged in the donuts dessert and some good wine and great muscat. However, we waited ages to order said wine, and even longer to order food, and had to combat the waiter's condescension as we ordered. With $30+ minimum for entrees (and with food this good!) service this bad is unacceptable. A crucial part of a successful night of dining out is good service - and the rudeness will we encountered will give me pause before choosing to spend another three figures at FM again."

"I was so excited to go back to Rasika for Restaurant Week - I hadn't been in a few years and remember loving it when I went before. My memory served me well and I was not disappointed. As pretty much everyone reports, the crispy spinach is absurdly good, I could have made a happy meal of a couple orders of just that. I think I prefer going as a dinner spot apart from RW and just ordering a bunch of options with the table and sharing, that'd be my only complaint from our meal - and it's not really a complaint against the restaurant at all. Rasika and Rasika West End really do deserve all of the praise they receive."

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"My dad is a huge foodie and whenever he's in town I try to show off the incredible and growing food scene we have in DC. I'd been wanting to take him to Le Dip for over a year but he usually only gives me a day or so heads up and it is hard to get a reservation there - this week we managed though and of course he was not disappointed. I have tried most of the menu but these days I tend to go straight for the best burger in DC. My pops, also a huge wino, was impressed with the list and we enjoyed an amazing Medoc. All in all, Le Dip remains one of my favorites - I'm lucky to live only a few blocks away! - and in fact I'll be back on Friday!"
