Taverns have had a constant important presence in American life since the late 1600's. Many of them, which were attached to inns, were opened as resting places for travelers needing a place to stop, relax and fortify themselves. Of course the local residents frequented the taverns too, purchasing drinks and meals as well as participating in lively conversations. Taverns were the focal point for neighbors to come together, exchange news, talk of politics, and share in the general feeling of conviviality. Taverns were firmly established as gathering places for the light hearted socializing, serious talk, and of course, a hearty meal accompanied by a tasty libation or two. In this American tradition, we at Mill’s Tavern welcome you with genuine enthusiasm. Our staff is warm, friendly, caring, and knowledgeable. So please come, relax, visit with friends and family. You will leave refreshed and nourished, body and soul.

"Our first visit to Mill's Tavern. Initially seemed perfect - great setting, great menu, prompt service. We told the server that we were going to see a show and she acknowledged our deadline. We only ordered main entrees. The food arrived 45 minutes after ordering and we had 15 minutes to eat. I would not recommend the coq au vin, but the blackened swordfish was well prepared."

Boulevard 18 Bistro and Wine Bar is a neighborhood restaurant on Main Street in the village of New Canaan CT. The menu is comprised of bistro classics, with our own unique twists. Everything from the frites to the 3 types of sausages, pâté, gravlax, pickles, duck confit and desserts including the ice cream and sorbet are made in-house. As many ingredients as possible are organic, sustainable and locally sourced.
We give the wine list the same attention. Wines are selected for quality and value with an excellent representation of major regions in France. We feature 20+ wines by the glass, a selection of craft-brewed beer and a full bar, featuring artisanal spirits and cocktails with fresh juices and herbs, and house-made infusions.
The beautiful room, in burgundy and dark wood is highlighted by an antique wall sized map of Paris. The custom-made zinc topped bar seats 15. Guests may sit at comfortable banquettes, at the zinc bar, counter or high-top communal table.

"Great neighborhood eatery in an upscale town. Despite the very busy Friday night, the service was top notch. Food was fabulous, as the price indicated. The dining room was very warm and inviting, though tables for two were quite close together. We ran into some friends there."

"We blindly chose Chef Geoff's for its proximity to the Warner Theater. We had an excellent experience. The waiter asked if we were seeing a show and stepped up the service accordingly. We had wine and an appetizer within 15 minutes of arrival. The food was delicious and the menu quite varied.
The restaurant was very busy on a Friday evening, but that did not affect the excellent service. We sat in a more remote end of the restaurant, so the noise level was less than if you were closer to the entrance.
We have already recommended it to some locals we know and some visitors we met."
