Carmine’s is a family style, value-driven restaurant concept with locations in NYC, NJ, Nassau Bahamas, and Washington DC. Restaurateur Artie Cutler created Carmine’s with one goal in mind: to open a restaurant that would serve every meal in the style of an Italian American wedding feast, featuring extra large portions of home-style antipasto, pastas, seafood and meat entrees served on extra large platters designed for sharing. Carmine’s is the perfect place to casually enjoy friends and family over great food and wine, with excellent service, the way it used to be at grandma’s house.

"Carmine's is great Italian restaurant. Warning, always take someone to split with, the portions are huge and more aligned to family style dining. Had the calamari, large portion and the price was on the high side as well. Ordered a salad with it, and it was fresh with appropriate ingredients, nothing spectacular, but it was good. Since it is a bit pricey, it is better suited to special event or gatherings where you can benefit from the large portions by splitting."

Perched a top the intersection of 14th and U Streets, Lost Society offers food, drink, and a killer view from its roof deck. The kitchen, run by Executive Chef Joseph Evans, serves up dishes that do justice to the restaurant's qualification as a 'boutique steakhouse.' Steak selections, in addition to other meat, fish, and vegetarian entrée options, render Lost Society an excellent destination for even the pickiest eaters. The bars (there are four) feature wine, beer, and cocktail options that complement a meal, a night on the town, or both.

"I visited after seeing an open table ad. Was greeted warmly. My waitress Regina was excellent and attentive. The selection of craft beers is limited, but adequate. They provided house made potato chips, super! The meal was provided quickly and properly presented, good size and appetizing. Portia, the manager, stopped by to check on my meal and unlike the typical manager who flashes by took time to chat. The food was outstanding. For dessert, I enjoyed the warm bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, Fantastic. This restaurant is now on my preferred list. It is a perfect place to take a date or significant other, quiet environment suitable for conversation. I gave it five stars because that was all that there were, definitely 5+!"

"I went to Light Horse when walking in Old Town. It was nicely arranged. I was greeted cordially. I was seated immediately. The wait staff was immediate and attentive. The beer selection was good, but lacked a porter beer on tap. I tried the Pilsner which was good. I ordered the calamari which had spicy peppers and a small bit of sausage in it. It was cooked properly and had a marinara for dipping. The sauce was in a small container, not near big enough. I then ordered the King burger. It was excellent, the bacon was smoked and done properly with an adequate amount to properly make it a bacon burger. It was a bit pricey with $11 for the calamari and smallish portion. But it was good and worth the cost and time."

"I was greeted after I approached the counter. They had my reservations and I was seated immediately. It would have been nice, if the waiter would have worked with the same acumen. He showed up after a while and asked for drinks. I gave him a primary and secondary selection of beer. He brought a third which I had not ordered, but it was OK so I did not complain. Took a long time to get him back for my order. I had a BLT Pizza. It was good but delivered by a different person. I had to find the waiter to get the condiments for the pizza. When I had finished my first beer, he was no where to be seen. I started to rise when a waitress asked me the problem. I explained and she brought me a second beer. Food good, service poor!"

"Stop in to District Commons for the first time for dinner. It has a nice ambiance and I was greeted amicably and promptly. Sat at the bar until the dining room opened at 5:30. Ended up staying at the bar and eating there. I had heard there was a porter been on tap, when I ordered, they ran out....very disappointing and no offer to see if there was more, more disappointment. There was a stout which was good, so I had this instead. Ordered pizza, and it was very good, though a bit expensive for an individual pizza. The bar has regulars and it does fill up. So don't be too late if you want to sit at the bar. Overall, it was a nice place, I will go again and recommend it to others."

"This was an excellent spot to have a delightful meal. It is expensive with sliders at three dollars apiece, but the display is excellent and they are covered in fried onion tangles. The pizzas were 10" and 14" and also expensive at $15/$23. But the pizza was well displayed, served hot and tasted great. There was good collection of beers which to my surprise had a great porter. Beers are served as pints. The service was excellent as well. The server had a solid knowledge of the drinks and menu. When undecided on which beer, she was quick to offer a free sample. The room was not large in size, but plenty of room for each patron without feeling cramped. I felt comfortable and well treated. The downside was price, but on my keeper list."

"Excellent restaurant! Started the meal with Calamari, it was a good portion properly cooked and served with two dips, visually appealing. Ordered 10 in pepperoni pizza, it was prepared properly and tasted very good. The service was attentive and responsive to each request for assistance. The sound level was good and there was a big screen TV that was available to those that want to see it but not obtrusive."
