Thomas Keller’s ad hoc, which literally means "for this purpose," was originally intended to be a temporary restaurant, open during the development of a very different concept. But, due to its loyal following, it was decided that it must be a permanent fixture in Yountville. ad hoc serves a prix fixe, 4-course chalkboard menu, changing daily. Food is served family style and reminiscent of the comfort food with which Chef Keller grew up.

"O.K. I will use the line that my daughter used to describe our experience at Ad Hoc: "The food was well known, but executed with perfection!" I think that's the way we felt: skirt stake, arugula salad, some bread and some desert, nothing fancy but, oh my! perfect!! We'll be back when for a special occasion, pricey!! but well worth the experience!!
Cheers

"La Provence left much, much to be desired! Gosh, what a disappointment! I used to go to La Provence to get great food paired with great wine. Last Friday was a great wine (provided by me) and mediocre (at best) food. I am really sorry to be so harsh but, the recommendations that I got (bison) was just T E R R I B L E !!! Sorry once again. My wife ordered the duck and it was , oh so boring! Look, we just want a good value. The main dishes arrived 30 MINUTES late, why? because there was a big party going on and the waiters left to attend the main floor were sparse and supper busy. They brought the wrong salad.... I ordered the kale salad, holy smokes!! terrible again.
Sorry for being so negative maybe you can fix these issues soon.

The Zinfandel Grille, Sacramento has been a local tradition for more than 20 years. Our upscale restaurant provides a unique dining experience while remaining comfortable and casual. The style of our food from our house-made pasta and wood-fired pizza to our grilled Kobe and rustic meatloaf pairs well with our array of Zinfandel wines. The cuisine ranges from California fresh to hearty Mediterranean. Our chefs selects only the best and freshest ingredients and we change our menu seasonally.
