"If you want a wide selection of crab dishes, prepared with whatever degree of spice suits your taste this is the place to go. Don't expect atmosphere or a drink menu, just very good crabs."

Local. Seasonal. Delicious.<br /><br />With Paul Martin's American Grill, Brian Bennett and restaurateur Paul Fleming have realized a long-nurtured dream to create the restaurant "we've always wished was in our neighborhood."<br /><br />At the heart of all great food is fresh, local, peak of the season ingredients. Paul Martin's aims to serve diners the best ingredients with meat raised in a humane and wholesome way, locally sourced produce, the best of both wild and farmed fish, artisan cheeses and cured meats from small local purveyors. The deep California-centric wine list twists and turns, by glass or bottle, through the Golden State's vineyards, with an occasional stop for an Oregon Pinot Gris or a Washington dry Riesling. Behind Paul Martin's elegantly rustic bar is an interesting array of craft beer and spirited cocktails with fresh garnishes. Good times and thoughtful food are a way of life at Paul Martin's American Grill.

"We ate here for my daughters birthday , which included her sisters and her nephews. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, which made all the difference to our celebration since the boys are 3 and 1 The elder loved the mac and cheese while the younger spent a good deal of time chewing a tiny piece of his mother's steak. We brought our own cake, since the restaurant doesn't serve birthday cake and they cut and served it at no extra charge. They were also able to provide both a high chair and a booster seat with a minimum of bother. The service was excellent and the food was very good, especially their raspberry martini made with house infused raspberry vodka."

With the prime location on Burlingame Avenue, in the same locale as the famous Copenhagen Bakery is the restaurant, known by the locals for it's refined Cosmopolitan Cuisine. Matching the exceptional standards and freshness of the 30-year old Danish bakery, Copenhagen Restaurant offers Steaks, Seafood, Salads, Pastas and distinctive dishes such as Danish Frikadeller meatballs, Pork Schnitzel, Margarita Prawns and our famous Chinese Chicken Salad. Family friendly and characterized as a neighborhood gem, the restaurant with it's European styled interior is warm and inviting.

"The food was good and the wine excellent but there were so many tables in a small space that it was impossible to carry on a conversation without including the people at the adjoining tables, The desserts were both beautiful and tasty. If you like chocolate desserts, this is the place to go as long as you don't wish to talk to your companions. Since this restaurant is also a bakery; it might be wiser just to purchase the dessert and take it home."

Since 1946, Capurro's Restaurant has been family owned and operated. Recently remodeled, Capurro's offers a traditional Fisherman's Wharf menu reminiscent of our Italian heritage. Serving lunch and dinner, we feature only the freshest locally caught seafood seven days a week from 11am to 10pm

"The restaurant has an extensive wine list, with several splits which are perfect for couples. The pasta dishes are well prepared and perfect for sharing. The building is one of the oldest in San Mateo with lovely tile floors and beamed ceilings. It was a lovely experience on a busy night but the staff was attentive without being intrusive."
