The grand dame of New Orleans' old-line restaurants, Galatoire’s has remained committed to culinary excellence for more than a century. Under the guidance of the fourth generation of family ownership, it is her time-honored customs that still bind this renowned restaurant. Above all others, her rich tradition of serving authentic French Creole cuisine at a level that raises consistency to an art form. It is often said that the beauty of Galatoire’s is that things never change. Even after 100 years, ageless New Orleans favorites grace her menu just as they did in 1905.

"This spot has been around for decades but is not delivering a dining experience worthy of that longevity. The food is average and the jacket requirement for men is the only thing that separates it from many tourist spots.
It is extremely noisy and singing happy birthday three times during our dinner didn't help.
We wouldn't go back when so many other great choices exist in NOLA.

"Menu is varied and all good but we always get lamb meatballs somewhere in the meal. They're super and the fresh baked bread is great for the sauce. Pizzas are inventive and the short rib gorganzola is excellent.
The servers here are well trained and the owner is attentive as well.

Situated on the iconic Chicago River with stunning views of the water and downtown, River Roast is a lively social house and gathering place from James Beard award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano and Executive Chef John Hogan. The menu features contemporary American tavern fare with dramatic presentations of whole roasted chicken, whole roasted fish and slow roasted beef; all carved tableside and served with signature potatoes. The food is handcrafted, yet rustic, with many plates designed for sharing. Two bars offer views of the water and a large selection of local beer, craft cocktails, beertails, and wine as well as carved meats from The Roost, River Roast’s carving stand. With one of the best patios in Chicago, River Roast is a great place to enjoy dining outside on a hot summer afternoon or a crisp fall evening. River Roast Private Events offers six flexible spaces, all with spectacular views, for parties from 10 to 1,000. Open daily for lunch, brunch, dinner and drinks.

"Interesting concept. Lot's of unusual appetizers and vegetable sides for sharing but essentially three entrees. You can get whole fish two ways, a roasted whole chicken, or beef roast carved at the table. The fried fish comes on a large skewer stuck in a cutting board. All are easily shared. The food was very good and kind of a fun presentation.
The outdoor seating along the river is pleasant but demand is high."
