"Carrot bisque, cow au vin, ceviche are all tasty. We made the talk at SF Jazz with no difficulty. Absinthe is a wonderful venue for dinner or brunch."

"Great place for brunch before SF Symphony. Small, intimate and the food is always prepared very well. Their ceviche is fresh, cool and light. I had the onion soup and a bowl of fruit -- simple and so very good (and healthy). By the way, Mahler's Third Symphony, with MTT conducting, was phenomenal. Great day to begin with Absinthe, go to the talk and then sit back and enjoy "nature" We enjoy the Sunday series...."

"Small plates to share, make it interesting to taste foods with which we are not familiar. All their dishes are well made and delicately flavored. The gravlax salmon was tender and seasoned perfectly. Second time we were here. It is a short distance to SF Jazz, as well as to ballet, opera and symphony. The server asks whether there are places one needs to be, so that the food can be timed well for a relaxed meal. As we headed to the garage after SFJazz, others were walking for a late dinner at Plaj."

The Historic Miramar Beach Restaurant & Bar has a long and colorful history going back more than 70 years. It was originally designed and built as a Prohibition speakeasy to serve the liquor smuggled into the Bay Area through a drop off point on Miramar Beach. We have kept the historical ambiance and décor of the 1920s including an incomparable collection of photos from the era. With only a frontage road between us and the beautiful Pacific Ocean, we have the number one view and sunset on the Coast side. Check out our website at www.miramarbeachrestaurant.com.

"We enjoy returning to Miramar Beach Restaurant. The view, the ambiance, the food and the service are always a treat. Generally, we are there at 11:30am -- so tend to get breakfast, though they do have lunch items on the menu, as well.
My husband enjoys the eggs benedict and I had eggs florentine (sauce on the side). Fresh fruit adds to the pleasure. We have never been disappointed. We enjoy listening to Terry Disley on the piano -- truly a treat.

Known for their astounding repertoire of fresh spring rolls and collective small plates, Three Seasons Restaurant has quickly become the dining experience of choice among those who know. Founders Chef Hung Le and Tessa Nguyen bring their concept of fresh premium ingredients combined with innovative food presentation to downtown Palo Alto. The result is an unprecedented and thoroughly addictive spin on traditional Vietnamese flavors. The flagship Three Seasons, in San Francisco's trendy Marina District, has earned the distinction as one of the most acclaimed Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area since its inception over three years ago.

"Interesting choices of small and large plates. Enjoyed the several small plates that we shared. We'll go back and explore the menu. Only drawback, is that the chairs are tall and thus, it is not as comfortable as usual 16-17" chairs, even with resting our legs on the footrest (not a comfortable position for either of us)."

Fahrenheit is the South Bay’s premiere venue for dining, entertainment and special events. With innovative design concepts by award winning designer Jones Baker. Fahrenheit Restaurant & Lounge, located in the heart of downtown San Jose, celebrates Contemporary California Cuisine. With the use of organic and sustainable ingredients, our "farm to table" approach uses nothing but the best produce, poultry, fish, and meat available from local farmers, ranchers, and fishermen. These ingredients provide the inspiration behind our ever-evolving menu. Wild Herb Crusted Sea Bass, Creekstone Hanger Steak, Ahi Tuna Tartare Tostada, and Asian Pear & Green Apple Salad are just some of the samples on the seasonal menu. The beverage program adopts the same philosophy, featuring boutique wines and beer from local vineyards and breweries, and delicious craft cocktails created by our master mixologists. We invite you to experience the best of California!

"Great for Pre-San Jose Rep dining.
They have added some dining tables by the window area on San Fernando, so early seating is ample.
The staff is helpful with suggestions and checking in that all is well and whether anything is needed.
The food is prepared well. Portion sizes are right sized (except the "cowboy rib-eye" is HUGE -- great for leftovers.
The duck was falling-apart tender and with a tasty wine reduction sauce (a bit on the salty side, for me -- but I don't add salt to anything). I have tried several of their soups and salads -- always a treat. Their panko calamari is tender and crispy."

Tucked away atop Nob Hill, Venticello Ristorante, is one San Francisco’s best kept secrets. With quaint tables, a wood burning oven and views of the bay, Venticello provides a warm intimate atmosphere that is reminiscent of a Tuscan Farmhouse.
Recognized as one of the most romantic restaurants in San Francisco, we are located just a few blocks away from the historical Mark Hopkins and Fairmont Hotels, as well as walking distance from the Huntington Hotel, The Stanford Court, and the Ritz- Carlton Hotel.
As you walk into Venticello, you will enter our upstairs area. Our full and complete wooden bar is supplied with an array of distilled spirits as well as some of the finest Italian and Californian wines. This allows you and your guests to enjoy a variety of beverages while hearing the Cable Car bell ring just outside our front door.
Venticello, meaning soft breeze, will sweep you and your guests away with an unforgettable experience.

"First time at Venticello. We had tickets to a fantastic organ concert (Cameron Carpenter) at Grace Cathedral.
Entrance is on Washington, not Taylor, though we discovered that easily enough.
I had the butternut squash soup and the beet ravioli with goat cheese filling -- each very tasty. My husband had the black ink squid risotto -- excellent.
Tables are close, so overhearing other conversations is unavoidable.
We'll be back if we are in the area again."
