Welcome to the George Street Ale House, A Gastro Pub. At the Ale House you can enjoy a wide variety of craft beers and great wines. We also have a full bar with prohibition-inspired drinks created by our mixologists. Chef Michael brings forth a menu from local farms and purveyors, using the freshest ingredients that always please the palate. And did we mention some solid drink specials every night?...and New Brunswick"s biggest Friday happy hour! Come in, have some fun, enjoy our place, and leave all your inhibitions at the door.

"Dinner was very good. It is a bar and football was on a dozen TVs so it was noisy. Overall we enjoyed dinner."

Labrador Lounge, now in Normandy Beach, was born in Belmar when being busy meant the wait staff only got one surf break and walking your dog on the beach did not result in a monetary fine. Today, the Normandy Beach restaurant serves up Marilyn Schlossbach's popular vacation-inspired cuisine. Whether you order a Lobster Dynamite sushi roll, baby back ribs, or Marion's crab cakes, each dish is served with effortless style that is complemented by warm ocean breezes and the summer salt air.

Opened all year long, bring your own, bring it often and indulge in the Labrador Lounge experience.

In 1940 Franklin E. Barmore Sr. purchased the land where the current Shrimp Box now sits to become a commercial fishing dock. The Barmore Family consisting of Frank Sr., Edith, and Frank Jr., ran the dock and the adjoining retail fish market, selling and transporting fish along the Atlantic Coast.

In 1953, with Frank Jr. and Mom Barmore (now a widow) decided to open a small take-out seafood stand to keep her occupied. After several years, the stand was so successful it moved to the retail fish store (the current lobby and part of the kitchen) and expanded it's seating to 36 from the four original counter stools.

Frank Barmore died in 1982, leaving the restaurant to his wife and daughters.
In the end of the 1999 season, the Shrimp Box ownership was transferred to Nick Gyftakis and George Pappas. Nick and George have been in business together since the 1970's. With their combined restaurant history, your dining experience is sure to be memorable.

"Thought early dinner on a nice day would be good. Dinner was good. I don't understand why others rate so high. Salad bar is a waste of time. And frankly a little over priced but I understand they make all the money in the summer. Might go back but I am not running there."
