Conveniently located in downtown Pittsburgh, within walking distance of the Convention Center & four major downtown hotels.<br>A Pittsburgh favorite for over 20 years. Recipient of the Wine Spectator of Excellence 1995-2006 and The Dirona Award 2000 - 2006 (Distinguished Restaurants of North American).<br>The Carlton has a spectacular cuisine, complimented with an extensive wine list served by polished waiters in a beautiful atmosphere. Pittsburghers know the value of the Carlton making it the spot for business meetings to celebrations.

"My son and I were in Pittsburgh to tour UPitt & CMU. I wanted to invite his friend at Carnegie Mellon to dinner; and OpenTable is the best resource for fine dining in most U.S. cities. Since Downtown Pittsburgh is deserted after 7PM, we were very pleasantly surprised to find an expansive, beautiful restaurant through a small door on the 2nd floor in the BNY Mellon office building. The Carlton is a wonderful place for a good, relaxing meal. The decor is ideal for a fine dining experience. It deserves all the praises for its customer service. Hostess and servers were all wonderful and attentive. The scallops, the NY Strip Steak, the Chilean Sea Bass were all perfectly seasoned and prepared. My wine was good. We enjoyed our coffee and desserts too. Highly recommend."

A meal without wine is like a day without sunshine- 'Brillat Savarin'. Sonoma is a restaurant that is eclectic yet approachable, where food and wine are uniquely prepared side by side.

"Hostess was warm & friendly. Immediately asked if they could store my bags (since I was waiting for greyhound bus back home). Pleasantly surprised to see huge space beyond the modest store front. Lovely decor of fine restaurant. Server was very knowledgeable. He was someone who cared about his job & the restaurant. My split pea soup was one of the best; duck was perfect; red CA wine ideal match; avocado crab appertizer was very good. Honestly pleased to find this place in Pittsburgh. Highly recommend."

"We used to come for dinner at least once a month. And it was good to return again, especially to see our favorite server, Graham. It's nice that he remembers what we like to order as well as being attentive and kind. I tried a new item, beef rib which was good but unfortunately it was a tad overcooked and a bit dry. My friend's salmon dish was very good and filling as usual. We will be back so that I can try the beef rib again. (This bar/comedy club often host parties.)"

"Since we really enjoyed our last dining experience here, we made it a point to return to this cute place that is just a bit too FAR east. The M9 bus is the most convenient way to get here. The food was outstanding as expected. The coffee is exceptionally good. We also feel that the place is very clean. However, there were only 3 groups for dinner. If the cafe was more centrally located, it'd be full. We recommend this place highly."

"We came here for dinner. We asked for a table by the windows, in case the bar area would be noisy, but it was mostly subdued. The food was very good; and we were pleasantly surprised by the huge portions. The hot cider coffee was good too. Our server was very attentive and made suggestions as well as described any item that we questioned. (I believe that Mumbles was a part of a family chain. I used to go to other ones often when I was a college student.) We will be back next time we are VERY hungry. It was alot of food!"

"My friends from Ohio, wanted New York pizza in the USQ area, but I didn't want to go to Patsy's again. Based on reviews, I picked this place which is conveniently located a block from my friend's apartment. It's sort of an "industrial" space with white walls and counters. There's a gigantic flat screen tv for sport games. We enjoyed the pizza, salads and coffee. The desserts looked good, but we didn't have any. At 3PM, an European crowd started coming into the place...for the soccer game. Great to have the bar facing the t.v.! Then it started to get loud with cheering and yelling. We liked this place and recommend it highly for the food and mix of Americans & Europeans."

"I returned for dinner again since I enjoyed my dinner very much here 5 nights ago. The food was perfect as well as the attentive service including the wonderful owner who stopped by our table. She came by to check on the steak that my friend reordered (when it was well done, instead of medium). Kind, informative. The desserts (soufflé & profiterole) were divine. Highly recommend!"

"I'm happy that I used Opentable to find this very good French restaurant. We were surprised that such a wonderful chef could be located in a touristy hotel in Herald Square! French onion soup is a must. It is a small restaurant which opens into the Radisson hotel. Very warm room temp! Highly recommend it for food and convenient location."

"The food was superb, seasoned perfectly and served hot. They serve only French wines, and so I was a little disappointed not to have a Prosecco. Café au lait and tiramisu were wonderful too. I like the décor which is like a library in an old French country cottage. Truly an authentic French experience from the many Frenchmen who works there to the attentive owner. The place was fully booked. Many local residents. Definitely returning soon. Highly recommend."
