"Wonderful seafood restaurant. Near Pikes Place Market so easy to find. Server pleasant but not overbearing."

Chef Tyler Florence brings his passion for high quality and style to San Francisco with his new flagship restaurant, Wayfare Tavern. A classic San Francisco Tavern featuring authentic American dishes inspired by local cuisine at the turn of the 20th century, the menu ranges from classic comforts to rustic delicacies. The beverage menu features locally-sourced wines including a selection of Florence's own label, quality draft beers and organic root beer as well as classic Victorian-era cocktails.

All three floors of the restaurant have been designed keeping historical accuracy in mind making Wayfare Tavern reminiscent of a Victorian parlor and an Edwardian men's club, where anything goes from black-tie to blue jeans. Pull up a stool to the Chef's Counter at the open kitchen and look on as Chef prepares your lunch or head to the Library and Billiard Room for a game of pool. Wayfare Tavern is a truly unparalleled dining experience translated from a century ago. Photo: John Lee.

"Poor service began when table was not ready for 15 minutes but a complimentary champagne eased the discomfort.
Table service was decent to start but server seemed confused in reciting special details. Then it when downhill as server failed to enter a starter order and left 3 people to share an appetizer of oysters meant for 2. On second request, missing starter appeared but it was the most "undistinguished" steak tartare I have ever eaten.
Other entrees were okay but not up to Wayfare reputation.
While they tried to manage situation with comp of desert and a wine refill, it was a generally poor experience.

Chef Michael Chiarello has returned to his culinary roots by creating seasonal farm-to-table Italian cuisine reflecting the bold flavors of Chiarello’s heritage in his signature style 1st made famous at Tra Vigne in the 90’s. An award winning chef/vintner & Food Network host, Chiarello celebrates his Italian roots and the Napa Valley with a menu echoing his long practice of using the finest locally/sustainably produced food. Located in Yountville, in the heart of the Napa Valley, Bottega’s extensive wine list represents hard-to-find favorites of the Valley and interesting Italian selections. Chiarello restored the integrity of an old 1800’s estate by uncovering beautiful hard wood floors, timber beams, old brick walls and windows. The inviting dining room is accented with reclaimed antiques, warm fabrics and eclectic light fixtures lending to the restaurant’s old world comfort.

"Bottega is one of our favorite wine country spots for Sunday lunch and the food, especially world's bets $19 burger did not disappoint. However, I had made a special call to request outside seating. We arrived 10 minutes early and we're not surprised to be told that table was not ready but dessert was being served. 35 minutes later we were seated. Hostess never accurately updated table status so we could have chosen to sit and have a drink while waiting. One of the worst dining services experience in memory !!"

Thomas Keller’s ad hoc, which literally means "for this purpose," was originally intended to be a temporary restaurant, open during the development of a very different concept. But, due to its loyal following, it was decided that it must be a permanent fixture in Yountville. ad hoc serves a prix fixe, 4-course chalkboard menu, changing daily. Food is served family style and reminiscent of the comfort food with which Chef Keller grew up.

"Might not have ordered what was served 'family style' but it was an exceptional experience.
