"This is about the umpteenth time my wife and I have dined at Sushi Damo on 58th St. We find it convenient to dine there prior to attending a Jazz at Lincoln Center concert (we are subscribers). Our waiter was literally absent with bringing drinks to the table (we had to remind him that we ordered drinks). Also, unlike other patrons, we were not given the hot hand towels. In short, he was inattentive. What makes this judgment really bad is that there were 5-6 tables to wait on and he was one of three waiters.
Worse, I was asked by the restaurant host how did I enjoy my meal as I was exiting, I responded "I've had better experiences" - she laughed - and laughed loudly. She didn't ask any follow up questions. Actually, she seemed sort of vacant between the ears!!
Anyway, I have to attend another concert come Apr 17th - and I won't be dining at Sushi Damo - then - or anytime soon.
Regards,
Ted M.

Dan Rooney's Cafe & Bar is situated at the entrance of the new entrance of the Empire City Casino. Conveniently located in southern Westchester, we are a comfortable sports pub featuring American cuisine, created by chef Fabienne Eymard. We feature delicious rotisserie chicken. Traditional dishes include Fish & Chips, Barbecue Pork Ribs & Mac & Chesse. Enjoy Westchester's best burger, winner of the 2012 Greenwich Food & Wine Festival. Our bar features Irish Whiskeys, Single Malt Scotches and two dozen draft or bottled beers.
Dan Rooney's is the only sports pub in America with a pari-mutuel horse betting cage. Enhance your betting with live race simulcasts. Watch global sporting events on 35 TV monitors.
Enjoy dueling pianos Thu-Sat or dine in the Train Car room for a more intimate meal. The adjacent dining room, reminiscent of an Irish farmhouse kitchen is perfect for private events.

"For all of the hype, it is a middle-of-the-pack restaurant for the mid-town/Columbus Circle area. The service left a lot to be desired, either the waiter staff is too busy to listen carefully or they are outright neglectful. I would think it is the former, but, regardless we had problems getting across our order on three occasions the night we were there. Our appetizers came out before our drinks and it seemed like we waited an eternity for the drinks. We asked for cold water - no ice and was served warm water. Last we were asked if we were finished and we responded "no" - but the waiter went for our plates anyway.
On the positive side, the food was very tasty - but far from plentiful; they could have served my Branzino on a postage stamp.
Suffice is to say....not again"

"The seafood soup is highly recommended - it is a few succulent shrimps and sliced scallops in as good a clear broth I have ever encountered. The Sushi is good, but I go there because my wife love's the joint."

"No doubt a nicely decorated and appointed restaurant. However when it comes to the food and service the only stars it deserves if for a celestial body to rain down upon it with revision.
I had the Paragon Surf & Turf, my wife had the Lobster over Risotto.
My Surf & Turf consisted of an over battered tough part of a Lobster, the lone Shrimp was over-grilled but admittedly tasty (had a nice spicy kick) and the two crispy bacon wrapped scallops had some appeal. However the three slivers of thinly sliced Kobe Beef were pathetic. In short, what I was served wasn't cuisine; it was disastrously unforgettable.
My famished wife left half her food in the plate.
Suffice is to note that I won't return."
