Authentic Chinese food in a 1930's Shanghai setting. Space/Concept Design: Yiming Wang. We've set out to re-imagine the Chinese cuisine experience. Taking pages out of Eileen Chang's Love In a Fallen City, add in a bit of Coco Chanel, and mix it up with a lot of authentic Chinese food - emphasis on authentic, we want to give our guests an experience that is unlike any other Chinese restaurant.

"It's too bad because the food is excellent, but the ambiance was, well depressing. It's a big space to fill and the decor is seriously lacking. I know they are new and hope they have plans to add some art and better decor. The music was awful. It went from the Beatles to some depressing stuff. They were nice enough to change. The host was great, but our waiter was clearly a newbie who barely new English. We had to say everything several times. But back to the food. Very inventive and not your typical greasy over sauced chinese. I hope the improve the experience side of things."
