From the team behind One Off Hospitality Group, Executive Chef Paul Kahan and restaurateurs Donnie Madia, Terry Alexander and Kimberly Galban present Nico Osteria. An authentically Italian seafood restaurant, Nico Osteria at Thompson Chicago hotel brings rustic simplicity to the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast.

Chef Erling Wu-Bower’s house-made pastas and fresh seafood, alongside Pastry Chef Amanda Rockman's unconventionally creative and approachable style are perfectly suited for the setting’s rustic elegance.

Salone Nico is a welcoming gathering space, celebrating the European tradition of afternoon apertifis and low-proof cocktails. The approachable wine list features wines from Italy and Greece, as well as grower champagne, with an emphasis on small producers and older vintages. Grab a cocktail, sneak in a light bite or settle in for a night cap at Salone Nico.

"This place is great because it is nicer italian/american fusion that is all designed to be shared by the table, and I love that approach since we all get to try more things! The ambiance here is great too and it has an open kitchen with a chefs viewing bar dining area I would love to sit in if/when I come back here. The highlights food wise were the whole rainbow trout--my goodness so good! And the big eye tuna crudo, the crab bruschetta, and this pork and truffle papperdelle! So much food and our server helped us order exactly the right amount. Huge, almost overwhelming wine list too, but the sommelier is great!"

Born in Milan to culinary great Cesarina, a Cordon Bleu of Chaine des Rotisseurs in Paris, Maurizio inherited his passion for cooking and learned his skills under the watchful eye of his mother.

After years of being the front man in Milan and New York’s most prestigious restaurants, Maurizio realized that he wanted to pursue his passions as a chef and subsequently opened his own Maurizio Trattoria in NYC’s Greenwich Village to great critical acclaim and success.

Along with many prestigious articles and reviews, Maurizio Trattoria was also voted one of the best restaurants in New York by Forbes magazine from 2004 to 2007. Maurizio Trattoria’s regular clientele included famous A-list movie stars, fashion designers, Ceo’s, as well as neighborhood notables.

Sofi Restaurant is an upscale Milanese Trattoria simply decorated with lithographs from Carroll Tyson and table tops that are handmade from two hundred year old wood.

"If you are in the mood for nicer italian food that is still cooked in a home/comfort kind of style, this place is for you. It is right in the printers row neighborhood and you can tell everyone who works here loves it. Great crab cake with red pepper sauce as a special and a garganelli pasta with pancetta, and their ravioli's are the thicker kind, but still very tasty. Go early enough though if you want a souffle since we ate late here, and the chef was out of some of the ingredients! But great spot overall. Especially since I live around the corner, I would love to come back!"

From the team behind Blackbird and avec comes this homage to beer, pork, and fish. Executive Chef Paul Kahan and Chef de Cuisine Cosmo Goss have developed a network of proveyors to supply the restaurant with hand-selected, sustainably-harvested fish and seafood as well as sustainably-raised heirloom pork to anchor a rustic menu of simple, eclectic fare. The extensive international beer list, developed by partners Eduard Seitan and Terry Alexander, features 100 or so ales, lagers, stouts and ciders by the bottle, 12 of those available on tap. Like Blackbird and avec, The Publican is a design partnership from the James Beard Award-winning team of Thomas Schlesser and partner Donnie Madia.

"Their menu changes every day for the most part, so you can always come here and see something new on the menu. And all of the food is really inventive putting together local seasonal ingredients in so many ways. Amazing pork rinds, their chicken liver pate with strawberries was amazing, their whole chicken is some of the best chicken I've had, and their trio of hams was so tasty! Plus their chocolate pudding dessert is the perfect balance of sweet and salty. It is a little loud in here is the only draw back, but if it is nice out, the patio is much nicer for conversation."
