"This place may be a victim of its own success. The food was great, but that was about it. Very crowded, people hanging out the doors. Waited in line 10 minutes just to tell them I had a reservation. Took forever to get served. Food came out in the wrong order, and before my drink. They just couldn't get it together."

Located lakefront on the famed Nautical Mile, our location provides our guests with convenient access by land, or water and has one of the best and only 2nd level views. This casual dinning atmosphere with entertainment, brings fun to our guests and is a great place to bring the family. The history behind Captain Jack's is told in our lore, about smuggling whiskey across Lake Saint Clair during Prohibition. Our menu offers entrees to our guests that provide comfort food with a twist, and crafted prohibition style cocktails. During the summer months our restaurant provides a water taxi which makes frequent stops around the nautical mile in neighboring harbors, restaurants and bars. Private indoor and outdoor banquet space is available for parties up to 200.We are open all year round, so stop in and enjoy a wonderful dining experience today!

"This place was fine, but nothing special. The only wines they had by the glass were no-name house wines. Pretty cheap stuff. The fish and chips - the fish was fine. The chips were cold when I got them. Not what I expected in this really nice area."

"Everything about Fleming's in Austin was outstanding. Can't fault them for anything. But, as it had been a few years since I'd been to a Fleming's, I guess I didn't realize just how very expensive it is. If you want a special occasion, with great food and service, and are prepared to pay for it, this is the place. But it's not for an everyday meal. I had an entree (the mahi mahi special - outstanding!), a wedge salad, and two glasses of wine. With tax and tip, it was nearly $100 for one person."

"Max's was fine, depending on what you like. The bone marrow butter popcorn was awesome, but heavy. Couldn't eat too much of it. The fried chicken was super moist, but it was marinated in jalapeno buttermilk, and had more kick than I like. The collard greens were doused in so much hot sauce that I couldn't eat them. I know this is Austin, but not everybody likes their food super hot and spicy. Put a bottle of hot sauce on the table and let us spice to taste. As for the wine, certainly a great variety, but not a great value as their website claims. They serve a 5 ounce pour, which they claim is standard. Not really. Six ounces is far more common. Didn't see much under $10 for a 5 ounce glass of wine. Not outrageous, but certainly no bargain."

"City Grill was the best! I rarely give a restaurant an "outstanding" review, but this one deserves it. I came across on the Tunnel Bus from Detroit after spending nearly a week downtown on business, with the gloomy and overpriced options there. It may seem like a lot of trouble crossing the border just to have dinner, but it was so worth it! I'd go back in a heartbeat. Great food, great service. What more can you ask for?"
