We know the word "fusion" has been wielded about to justify everything from Hula Burgers to Mexican lasagna. But the East-meets-South brand of fusion happening at Poor Calvin's? It's creative; it's innovative; and it's probably unlike anything you've tasted in the ATL. After working in kitchens around the world, Calvin Phan wanted to shake things up a little. And so, into the mac 'n cheese, the Thai spices went. Now, Calvin's giving Southern staples, like sea bass and fried chicken, a decidedly creative Asian-inspired twist (and a nip of spice, too). We didn't think good old-fashioned mac 'n cheese could get much better. And then, we tried Calvin's ridiculously rich take on the cheesy classic, gussied up with chunks of lobster and given a zing with Thai spices. This, and more innovative dishes, approached in much the same way, leave the hands of Calvin Phan day in and day out. His dedication and attention to detail are evident in each dish and dessert. You won't be disappointed.

"I had a great meal here. The food and drink were outstanding. Very creative menu. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. I ended up going for the crispy beef, and it was fantastic! The server was exactly what a server should be. Knowledgeable, excited about the menu, helpful, attentive (but not overly so), and friendly. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Atlanta, to keep going down the menu to try something else."

"Havana 1957 is good, if you want somewhat authentic Cuban food, but be warned that it's definitely a chain, and has a "chain restaurant" feel to it. Everything I had to eat was good, and the service was fine. If it's convenient to where you are, you'll probably enjoy it. The one negative for me was a VERY loud musician who sang and played so loud that conversation was nearly impossible. He was talented, but I didn't go for a concert."

"The food was very good, especially the quinoa and spinach salad. The view can't be beat, and the service was very good. I liked the fact that an appetizer is included with the main dish at no extra charge. The menu had good variety, and I thought the prices were very reasonable. I would go back."

"This may be a nice neighborhood bar with food, but it wasn't what I was looking for. First, the seats are uncomfortable. The menu wasn't great - the best looking thing I saw was tilapia (that should tell you something). It was mushy, and smothered in a gooey glop that was like salsa from Taco Bell. The waiter was pleasant. That's about the best I can say."

Crave Fishbar is a vibrant, convivial restaurant in Midtown Manhattan serving an inspired seafood menu from chef Todd Mitgang. An eclectic mix of reclaimed materials and custom made chairs and tables lend a beachy, rustic feel to the space, which houses a 25-foot-long bar where guests can order from the full dinner menu along with cocktails and wine from a mounted bottle display. Approachable, sophisticated dishes feature local seafood, crudos, and meat dishes that are thoughtfully prepared with both familiar and exotic ingredients. Crave Fishbar has taken its place as a neighborhood fixture, providing locals and newcomers alike with a elegant, inviting experience.

"Sorry, I can't recommend this place. Ordered the roasted cauliflower soup. It was so heavy and fatty I felt like I was eating a bowl of lard. Ordered the poached hake. It took a while to come out, and then it was room temperature. I told the waiter, and he was very nice, but said, "Yeah, when you poach fish it doesn't get very hot. We get that complaint a lot." He gladly replaced it with the salmon, which was fine, but not memorable. Really didn't enjoy my meal here."

"This is as much an experience as it is a meal. You cook your own food, on a BBQ grill in the middle of your table. Great for groups of 6 or fewer. The food was really good. Very high quality meat and vegetables. The service could have been a little more attentive, but the staff was friendly enough. We were on vacation in NYC, and had friends, who live in NYC, with us. Great opportunity to visit in a fun atmosphere over good food."
