Trummer's on Main is where New York City meets Historical Charm. Owners Stefan and Victoria Trummer bring their extensive restaurant experience and passion to small town Clifton to offer a unique dining experience. Our chef, Austin Fausett, helms from The Inn at Little Washington and offers a variety of dining options including bar snacks and casual food in the bar, a la carte dining in the dining room or the Chef's Grand Tasting Menu.

Trummer’s On Main is engulfed in history that dates back to the 1800’s and brings an edge to the historical area. Each floor has something special to offer for the eyes as well as the palate. Come see for yourself why we are regularly listed in the Washington Post Dining Guides, Washingtonian Top 100 Restaurants and Northern Virginia Magazine's Top Restaurants!

"We have wanted to visit this restaurant for a long time and when we finally made a reservation, we were blown away. Everything from the service to the food was beyond outstanding. The wine list is extensive (20 pages long). The attention to detail on the presentation of foods including desserts (beignets, yum) was exceptional. While not cheap, I would definitely return to this place."

The mastermind of Maple Ave and Water & Wall and native Northern Virginian is dedicated to creating fun and innovative dining experiences. Leaving behind his career as an engineer, he attended the French Culinary Institute to pursue a profession in the food industry. Fast forward to the present, he is now the proud owner of two restaurants, and receiving numerous amounts of praise from critics and peers.

"I was excited to visit one of the places that Washington Post critic Tom Sietsema rated as one of the best restaurants in DC. However, I was very underwhelmed by the experience as a whole.
The waiter had a sloppy pouring of the wine, some of which got on the table and sat in a puddle for the rest of the meal. My steak, ordered medium, came out rare (perhaps barely medium rare by some standards). The food, when prepared to my liking was tasty but not memorably better than many other places I could find in Arlington (Liberty Tavern, et al.). I appreciated that they comp'ed an after-dinner drink to make up for the rare steak. However, since my nights out are limited, I just don't see myself returning."
