Rye, a restaurant celebrating Midwestern recipes, traditions, and culture using local Kansas & Missouri flavors and farmers. Rye restaurant in Leawood, Kansas, just south of Kansas City, will celebrate the Midwestern foods that chefs Megan and Colby Garrelts grew up eating. Both of these chefs are proud to be from the Midwest and Rye gives them the opportunity to showcase dishes that they have enjoyed with several generations of their families. They will pay homage to those heritage dishes that the Midwest is known for succulent smoked pork chops, aged steaks, baby back ribs, fried chicken, vegetables just off the stove, Parker House rolls, freshly made seasonal pies, fruit cobblers, and ice box cakes to name a few. Their food at Rye will take traditional dishes and give them a chef’s point of view, while preserving the important heritage of the dish. Chefs Megan and Colby will use fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and products including produce from their family farm.

"Great service, and that fried chicken! Delicious food, from the trout to the steak to the chicken. Our table enjoyed every dish. Well prepared. We'll be back!"

"Very nice welcome and very nice service. Terrible food. We've tried it twice. Tired looking salad and poorly prepared fish."

About YaYa’s There is something about YaYa’s that is both sophisticated and whimsical. The atmosphere and menu are certainly sophisticated. Mosaic tile floors, stone columns and fabric covered wall panels are complemented by heavy beamed ceilings, hand blown chandeliers and curvy wrought-iron railings . The eclectic menu is inspired by a combination of American, French, Italian and Greek cuisines. Mediterranean Euro bites share the menu with oak fired pizzas baked in our own brick oven; rich, creative pastas and an array of the freshest seafood dishes and innovative meat entrees. Perhaps the whimsical is the name itself and what it conjures up. Yia Yia means grandmother. The restaurant is actually named after co-founder Paul Khoury’s own grandmother, who as the wife of an ambassador, traveled in many European countries gathering ideas for her own special recipes.

"The new Ya Ya's does not disappoint. Our server, Larry, was fantastic. He was training a new employee, and both were delightful and professional. We had the trout and chicken dinners. All were prepared perfectly. The decor of the restaurant is lovely, and the staff welcoming. We look forward to returning again soon."
