Morimoto's contemporary Japanese menu infuses traditional dishes with Western ingredients and preparation techniques. His seasonal and ever-changing selection of raw fish preparations will feature the freshest seafood available as well as locally grown fruits and vegetables from supporting farmers. Morimoto's signature offerings include Toro Tartare, presented in a shallow wooden tray with condiments including crème fraîche, wasabi, avocado, nori paste, chives, crispy rice, and dashi-soy. Tuna Pizza made with raw tuna, anchovy aioli, and jalapeno; Morimoto Sashimi, a terrine of seared Toro, smoked salmon, barbequed eel, tuna and Hamachi served with five different sauces in pipettes.

"This is more a pan-Asian take on Japanese food, not the real thing. The ramen is pitiful (don't do it, it's chicken noodle soup), but other menu items are quite good including the rock shrimp, tuna pizza and gyoza (desserts are fun too). The bar can create some lovely cocktails and Morimoto's own beer (30 oz!) is good. If you're a Japanese purist, much will disappoint, but if you enjoy a creative play on Asian food, you'll get a kick out of some combinations. Our server was excellent in pointing out differences, including getting me a taste of the ramen dashi....not up to standards, but she was game enough to do it. Ultimately, it is a cold, concrete atmosphere, can be loud and clammy cold in the winter, nice in the heat, however."

The Park Bistro & Bar showcases only the freshest, local and organically grown produce as well as naturally raised meats and line-caught fish. Executive Chef Adam Carpenter has created an approachable, yet inventive menu, presenting a French twist on American fare. With a wholesome and earthy quality, many dishes elevate “comfort” food. Natural light from the romantic inner fountain courtyard, intimate alcoves, a large communal table and versatile private dining spaces. Rustic stone floors, natural wood tables, leather seating and an original art program create a warm and inviting, yet grand and inspiring, space that will create the most memorable dining experience in Lafayette. The Park Bar overlooks the recently renovated covered patio with an adjacent outdoor terrace featuring two fire pits offering both dining and casual lounge seating year round. The Park Bar offers guests traditional bar fare, a selection of artisanal beers and wines by the glass, and classic cocktails.

"The Park Bistro is a very serviceable eatery with excellent service and a wonderful bar. The restaurant's decor is somewhat dull and lifeless, perhaps because it's in a hotel? I enjoyed the soup of the day (corn chowder) and the wonderful dessert selections (soft serve ice cream with your choice of many toppings!), but the main course (short ribs) was too fatty for my taste. I would have been better off ordering another selection."

"Celadon is one of my favorite downtown Napa venues, and when it reopened after the earthquake I couldn't wait to return. Lunch had a very festive feel of celebration and renewal, even with severe wall cracks in the ladies :). We shared three small plates that were spectacular (including pork belly with watermelon, oh yum) along with the grilled polenta that is too wonderful. I must say that I prefer the luncheon preparation of the polenta to the evening edition (different chefs?). it always feels like home and this time even more so. It is a truly worthy destination for celebration or just a good meal out!!"

"This was a special occasion dinner featuring Neela Perez's Indian food from her recently published cookbook. So although I do eat at the Q quite often (it's right near Whole Foods), I did not have their regular menu, but a Indian edition. Neela's food is very good and I did enjoy it immensely."

"Cole's may have suffered physically from the Napa earthquake but the food and service still sparkles. It's always a pleasure to come here because the food is exceptional, the service perfect and it feels like home. I can't recommend it enough. And this is a recommendation from someone who doesn't eat red meat; the other menu options including the appetizers, salads, and the sides are glorious including the never-to-be-forgotten lobster bisque!"

"The Pear Southern Bistro may be a bit too Southern in its portion size. I could only make it through half my lunch, but, that being said, it was tasty and I enjoyed it. Just hate to waste food....Do not, however, order the tater tots: they are fried mushy mashed potatoes and not worth the calorie intake!"

PRESS is the perfect wine country dining experience. PRESS features prime dry-aged beef, whole roasted chicken, grass fed Sonoma lamb, and fresh fish prepared on a custom wood burning grill and rotisserie. The modern farmhouse style blends with the neighboring vineyards to create a truly modern steakhouse. An award winning largely Napa Valley wine list completes the PRESS experience.

"Press has been a favorite for quite some time but our latest visit was a disappointment. The prices have risen dramatically while the food preparation has suffered. I think $14 for an ear of corn, or $26 for six bacon slices is over the top and uncalled for. The tomatoes in my $20 salad were not trimmed correctly making some pieces inedible, the chocolate souffle was undercooked, and the lobster/crab cake was a gooey mess. Obviously more oversight is needed in the kitchen to warrant their higher prices. We will not be returning."

"We were here for a pre-theater dinner, and the Real Madrid soccer team was arriving at the same time: what a crush, but it was fun to see them all! The food was quite delicious and I must say, considering all the chaos, the service was great. I'll be back on a more subdued evening."

Boxing Room opened in 2011 in the former 19th-century Standard Shirts Factory, located in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley neighborhood. Executive Chef Justin Simoneaux, a Southern Louisiana native, celebrates the Cajun and Creole dishes of New Orleans and coastal Louisiana, coupled with seasonal Northern California ingredients. Additionally, Boxing Room offers oysters from the raw bar, and an extensive selection of beer and wine on tap. Since opening, Boxing Room has been named one of San Francisco’s Best New Restaurants by 7x7 magazine, and San Francisco magazine gave the restaurant a 3-star review. Boxing Room is open daily for dinner, lunch during the week, and brunch on the weekend.

"Although I'm not a fan of New Orleans Cajun/Creole cuisine, the Boxing Room does produce some interesting and tasty dishes. Some of the favorites, like fried alligator, I will never experience. The gumbo is quite good, and the homemade (I think) bourbon ice cream is a keeper. It's convenient to the Civic Center, opera and symphony, and easy in and out for a quick bite before a performance."
