Eric Ziebold was voted in Food & Wine magazine as one of ‘America’s Best New Chef’s’ and the restaurant one of the ‘Hottest Restaurants in the World’. On arrival, relax in the restaurant’s lounge and choose from a signature martini or champagne cocktail. The restaurant’s 20-foot high ceiling offers you a better view of the activity in the open kitchen, while the style and décor still provide an intimate setting. Eric’s menu changes monthly depending on the availability of the freshest ingredients. He and his team create multi-course tasting menus while our expert Sommelier advises on wine selections from the award winning wine list.

Located at the sophisticated Mandarin Oriental, CityZen creates the ideal atmosphere to celebrate, congratulate or just indulge in the fine culinary journey.

"The service is exceptional and the dinner is as good as it gets. On Birthdays we go to one of the top 10 from the Washingtonian and this one did not disappoint. I don't know how you can compare the top 5 and arrange them. Service was as good as the Inn at Little Washington and the dinner was as good as Komi. The only ding that I could come up with was that one of the guests had an extreme food allergy to seafood which was conveyed at time of reservation and throughout the meal. Yet the first two courses of the Chef's vegetarian menu were fried in oil that had been used for fish. The guest was sensitive to this problem and questioned the meal and it was replaced with something grilled. The restaurant apologized profusely."

"This was my second time to 2941. It is a great place to take business associates because it is quiet and well spaced out so that you don't have to worry about the table next to you hearing everything you say. The guests also tend to be quiet so it is a good place if you don't want the noise you get in most restaurants.
The first time I was at 2941 (at least 2 years ago), the lunch options were outstanding. I would have rated it a 4.5 (only negative being that parking is a pain if you don't do Valet). The menu was excellent, and the presentation was excellent. But this second time around I found the menu to be a bit limited and the portions very small. But the prices are moderate so I got something to eat along the way home."

"I took some business associates out after work and we all went online to look at the seasonal menu for the Reston M&S. Each of us arrived prepared to order so that the business meeting could proceed without that long pause for reading the menu or the constant interruptions to check if we are ready to order. But a glitch occurred. Two of the things on the menu weren't available so we ended up with that long pause, a quick order of whatever we spotted and then continued the discussions. It turned out that the quick selection was very good and interesting. Everything was fresh, well presented, and the staff was very professional. If you tell them you are there for business, they seat you in the back where it is quiet."

"The food was appropriate for the price for the area. The service was not as good as the Nashville Old Hickory Steakhouse at the Nashville Gaylord's convention center, but it was appropriate for a high end restaurant. They seemed short on staff and our waiter did a great job but struggled to keep up. Where things fell apart was the noise level. There are 3 dining rooms. One in the back was very quiet, one in the front was almost empty. And the one in the middle was perfect until they pulled a bunch of tables together and sat a huge group right beside us. When I made the reservation I noted that we were driving 1.5 hours for a special occasion. I would have expected the management to factor that in when choosing tables."

"Location is great for business lunch. It is French cuisine but a little pricy for the quality of the meal. I usually form a lot of my opinion for a French restaurant by the traditional items like the freshness of the table bread, the quality of the butter, and most importantly the Onion soup. I have had better Onion soup at Outback Steakhouse. That was the start of the downhill. The plates were not served at the same time and mine was served cold. It was a business lunch so it was a bit unpleasant to have half the table served and then to sit in silence waiting for the rest. If this were a $15 a person meal, it would have been great. But at these prices, it should have been better."
