"Cafe Havana is a spacious restaurant located on a rather desolate stretch of Jericho Turnpike, at the extreme western reaches of Smithtown. The parking lot is adorned with a pair of neon palm trees; the interior is handsome in a generic way -- lots of dark wood and ceiling fans, with a few pineapple-shaped wall sconces to remind you of the tropics. There is an interesting selection of tropical drinks from the bar, and the menu is varied enough to please most palates. Service is attentive and eager to please. Prices are moderate for this kind of restaurant, with this level of ambiance, food, and service. The next best thing to an actual trip to Havana (which is still, foolishly, off-limits for most Americans)."

A long Island favorite, Honu Kitchen and Cocktails continues to impress. Driven by the freshest local ingredients, Executive Chef Robert Flaherty’s seasonal American menu boasts an “excellent” rating from the New York Times. Soaring loft-like ceilings, elegant furnishings and a buzzing bar create a sophisticated setting matched by Honus renowned hospitality and polished service. Cuisine, setting, service: Honu is the perfect choice for any occasion.

"Honu has a special Mother's Day brunch. During the day this cavernous venue is quiet, unlike at night when the bar area is jammed and the music is pounding. The special brunch menu offers a good selection at a good value, but don't even think of asking for substitutions. Service was cheerful and for the most part attentive."
