As MH Reed observed in the New York Times in February 2008, “Red Hat is so close to the river in Irvington that when the wind is up and the waves slap the shore, their icy spray covers the riverside path to the restaurant.” The two level, French bistro-inspired eatery is housed in a hundred -year -old factory building that has been transformed to feature an uninterrupted, 180 degree view of the river from the main and loft dining levels. Guests will enjoy the seasonal, Hudson Valley ingredients, as well as French bistro classics.

"Went during restaurant week. Food was great, so was service. Noise level is very high though. If you want a quiet spot to eat this is not the place. Views of Hudson River are amazing."

Quality Meats is a contemporary restaurant that serves a rustic New American menu.
The varied menu focuses on modern interpretations of classic dishes such as Traditional Steak Tartare, Caesar Salad and Roasted Bone Marrow, in addition to several cuts of beef from legendary New York butchers Milton Abeles and Strassburger Meats.
The restaurant's side dishes alone merit a trip with innovative house specialties, including Corn Crème Brulee, Gnocchi and Cheese and Edamame with Mint Salt. The Quality Meats chefs are Craig Koketsu (Lespinasse, Stars) as executive chef and Cory Colton (Lespinasse, St.Regis) on pastry. The restaurant has a warm industrial atmosphere, created by award-winning AvroKO and features intimate dining areas, a comfortable bar area with well-stocked charcuterie bar.

"We were really looking forward to dinner here based on the many great reviews and their spot on Unique Eats show on cooking channel talking about how great the Yorkshire creamed spinach was. The service and ambiance were wonderful! But if the food isn't great especially at these prices it doesn't really matter. The Yorkshire spinach was soggy and tasteless and my crab cake was just ok. Porterhouse was same and potatoes were dripping with grease. So disappointed."
