Built in 1917, the historic building now home to our Santa Monica restaurant was once a transfer station for the narrow-gauge Red Car line, Los Angeles' first mass transit system. It was later the repair house for the world-famous Pacific Ocean Park, home to the oldest wooden roller coaster west of the Mississippi. These days, we're still a stone's throw from Venice Beach, heart of where L.A. goes to play -- and eat. Also just a few blocks from the waterfront, our sister restaurant in Santa Barbara operates in a century-old brick building originally home to an industrial linen service for seaside hotels. While the Douglas fir floors, soaring ceilings, and glassed cupola have always been features of this historic structure, the sweeping arches facing State Street were added after much of the building crumbled during the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake.

"Not the best fish restaurant...but a restaurant where you can go and reliably get a decent meal."

Since 1995, passion and devotion keeps Locanda Portofino one of the most authentic Italian restaurants on the westside. Where freshness and quality collaborate to create traditional such as egg tagliatelle bolognese, flavorful Neapolitan meat ragu, exotic spaghetti with sea urchin

"This is another one of those restaurants where we've had a wonderful, tasty, perfect meal...only to go back a second time and be disappointed. Will probably go back again at some point, but will hope they improve their reliability."

Palomino offers upbeat city dining featuring New World cuisine inspired by Old World cooking techniques. Located on the corner of Glendon & Lindbrook.

A comfortable place where striking surroundings magnify the metropolitan experience! Palomino is the perfect stop for a night out on the town or for quick drop in dining.
"We had gone to Palomino and loved it. Tried it again and nothing seemed to go right - everything was off - the food, service, everything. Will probably go back at some point, but this is one of those times when the first visit was fantastic and the second visit was just bad..."

We are a family-owned bar and restaurant in San Diego’s popular Gaslamp Quarter. The word “mezé” translates as “taste” – meaning both “flavor” and “a taste of something.” At Mezé Greek Fusion you’ll find both. Our menu features finely crafted regional cuisine with a California twist. It can be enjoyed as entrees in our chic high-ceilinged dining room, or in small portions as “mezé” that go exceptionally well outside on our patio with a drink, or as a bite at the bar before heading to a Padres game or a night out in the Gaslamp. On the weekends, we serve a delicious brunch with Bottomless Mimosas. Late night we recommend that you try our cocktail list and have a staff member pack a hookah for you. Come by and discover how a place can be both elegant and familiar, which is to say, Greek.

"We had gone to Meze for dinner the night before and enjoyed it...but sometimes you fall in love with a restaurant and the next time you go things don't live up to your memory of the first experience you had. We decided to go again for lunch - and once again all three of the people in our party really loved everything we ordered (we each ordered something different than we had at dinner the night before). The food and seasonings are really great - and we will definitely try Meze again whenever we're in San Diego!"

"Meze describes itself as "greek fusion"...and although a lot of the items seem to be somewhat traditional Greek dishes - the flavors were incredible! We had three people in our party - everyone ordered something different and we all loved every item we ordered! Will definitely go there again when we're in San Diego! (I wish all restaurants we try were this satisfying!!)"

"We chose this restaurant because it was near where we were staying and didn't want to have to go far. I had the scallops - which were perfectly done and seasoned well. The only thing I didn't care for was the "au gratin" potatoes...very bland...but the restaurant is lovely - the wine choices were great - we both enjoyed it!"

"We picked this restaurant because it was near a place we were sightseeing (Cabrillo National Monument). It was a great surprise, since we had a great meal - a great table by the window - great cocktails - and a great wait-person! She edited the cocktails we ordered to our taste; helped us choose from their menu (we had the fish tacos & the crab louie salad - we both loved our meals!); and was personable too! Really enjoyed this Saturday lunch before we went off to hike around the point! We were there on the early side, so it was quiet - but it's a large restaurant with different dining areas and a beautiful decor! Enjoyed it thoroughly!"

The main dining room, decorated with French antiques, exudes quiet, inviting grace and opens onto a large greenhouse filled with plants and fresh flowers. This airy room's elegantly casual ambience is the perfect complement to the more formal dining room.

The private dining rooms offer banquet facilities for business groups with free wi-fi, as well as social events such as weddings, birthdays, and rehersal dinners. The kitchen offers a menu borrowed from French country style recipes that are classical yet light in calories. Suberbly rich desserts include a delectable soufflé and signature crème brulée.
"We were there on a Monday just before leaving town. The food was very good and the reasonably priced. Had the chicken piccata, which was excellent and my husband loved the soup. Wait staff was courteous and attentive."

MarketBar is San Francisco's answer to Grand Central Station but on the water in the restored landmark Ferry Building. The casual menu offers many of the organic ingredients sold in the thrice-weekly farmer's market as well as the shops filling the interior of the building. Full Bar, creative wine list and seasonal market driven menu attracts a cross section of the city's diners to its handsome dining room, comfortable bar and spectacular outdoor sidewalk terrace.

**We do not take reservations for the patio. We seat only complete parties on a first come first serve basis.

"This was a cute place on the wharf and my french toast was great; but their version of smoked salmon/bagel (although beautiful on the plate) was just okay. The portions were small (for a hungry person) so we ended up ordering another dish to complete breakfast. Sitting outside on a gorgeous SF day however...that was great!"

Our Fisherman's Wharf seafood restaurant is steeped in a family tradition of quality and service. Still family owned and operated, Scoma’s opened in 1965, when brothers Al and Joe Scoma took over a six table coffee shop serving fishermen on the wharf. Using their mother’s recipe collection, the Scoma brothers' humble café evolved over the years becoming the quintessential San Francisco dining destination it is today.

"This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Although a little hard to find if you are walking, it was worth the search. The "Catch of the Day" which was salmon in a saffron risotto was beautifully plated; they had a twist on their caesar dressing (which was great!); and the cioppino was hearty and delicious. Our waiter Chris was fantastic. Loved it!"
