Situated in the lobby of the historic Kendall Hotel, the Black Sheep Restaurant is dedicated to the building’s past as a Victorian firehouse and to fine dining in Cambridge, Mass. The firefighters of Engine 7 considered themselves the “black sheep” of the Cambridge Fire Department, and the Kendall honors their memory with our restaurant. The menu offers daily selections created by our chef using organic and locally grown produce. Our cozy dining room creates a welcoming atmosphere, with a menu offering both classic and innovative American home-style cooking. Our philosophy is simple: purchase the finest and freshest ingredients and let the food absorb them. We offer a full bar and specialize in a selection of locally brewed beers and selected wines from wineries around the United States.

"We rarely go into Cambridge but had an errand- the restaurants in the area are many but we tried Black Sheep really for the location and that it's heading out of the town. We were very pleasantly surprised: we were very early for our res., but we were still seated almost immediately even though the dining area was not yet open. The service was helpful and considerate. We shared a cheese plate which was to die for- the cheese was a soft cake with a delicate flavor- delicious ! I had scallops and my husband had the cod- both meals were beautifully prepared to perfection. The wine offerings were not many, but we found a favorite. Such a lovely experience- I would have taken a room for the night, but we drove the 20 miles home, content."

"If you have not- you owe it to yourself to try Prides Osteria. The (seafood esp.) is always beautifully prepared: my favorite now is the bone-on swordfish, served with a tasty quinoa salad. A green salad is prepared with a light dressing, walnuts and just enough cheese. Service is charming, cuisine is consistently impeccable and the atmospheres is sophisticated but fun. Try it !"

"My husband enjoys a great steak from time to time and his filet mignon was no exception. A steak house for me- more of a challenge as I eat no red meat; I ordered the scallops and asked for them cooked medium, but still found them a bit underdone for my taste. We shared a lovely salad and had no room for dessert. The wine list is both extensive and expensive- we always share a bottle at dinner and it was difficult to find a good, reasonably priced bottle. The service was terrific- helpful and attentive. I will come back and try the other seafood offerings, but feel that Teresa's is a bit pricey for us on a regular, say weekly basis."

"This was our first visit to Andiamo and we enjoyed it very much; my husband and I shared a delicious salad then I had scallops and he tried the swordfish. All of these were beautifully prepared and a trio of gelato was the perfect finish. Andiamo has an outside seating plus seating in the quite large bar area and we were told that they held a wedding that afternoon- if I knew someone thinking about wedding plans in the area- I would definitely recommend Andiamo."

"I love the way they prepare seafood at Prides and my husband loves the pasta. This time, since our favorite beet salad was not available we tried a wonderful tomato savory tart (can't remember the actual name) and was it delicious ! We'll be back soon !"

"We recently had the realization that Ithaki is closer to home than we believed- so now plan to come often. There have been some menu changes over the years, but we can always find something that is delicious; my husband and I enjoy a bottle of wine with the meal and found many unfamiliar (to us) wines from which to choose. We arrived very early for our res., but were still seated right away; the staff is pleasant, helpful and we shall return soon."

"I had the swordfish for the second time- it is a delicious preparation; the fish is tender and moist with just the right level of seasoning. I have had this dish elsewhere, and it is often smothered in sauce which tends to dilute the essential flavor of the fish. We shared the salad with gorgonzola and nuts as Prides' was out of beets (our favorite to start); this salad was lovely with a delicate but tasty dressing; alas, this time we were too full to try one of the yummy deserts- next time!"

"Pride's Osteria has new menus, and a new chef- it's a seamless transition. Although my husband was crazy for the pesto- he enjoyed the new one as well, and found it to be more substantial. I tried chicken; a huge serving and very delicious. A must have for dessert is the trio of fruit sorbetto- so wonderful on a hot evening! The service is always wonderful."
