The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing's greatest moments. Diners are invited to take a break from the rush of modern life and travel back to the time of George Woolf, Seabiscuit and relive the excitement of The Race of the Century. We excel in offering the best grades of meat and extremely fresh seafood prepared by our longtime executive chef that would delight even the most discriminating of taste. Some of the menu highlights include the Bacon Wrap Filet, Delmonico New York, Prime Rib and Shrimp Scampi. We offer a wide selection of wines by the bottle and by the glass. Relax and enjoy a fine cognac or single malt scotch on our patio, or take in a sporting event on one of our three new plasma screen television sets. Dining at The Derby can only be compared to the feeling of holding the winning ticket when you smile and know that you made the right bet.

"The Santa Anita and racing memorabilia make this a distinctive and higher end choice among the many chain restaurants in this area. Family owned and with a clear connection to the racetrack culture, this restaurant stands out. That said, it is a traditional and fairly pricey steakhouse (with excellent seafood options). First time diners should be advised that "regulars" come expecting to know others in the restaurant and things can go from very sedate to rather raucous when such parties arrive! Those diners were having a great time but we were also pleased our relatively quiet meal was coming to an end when they arrived."

"This is a casual and energetic gastropub with an "Indian influenced" menu. The location near other emerging hot spots in this part of DTLA makes this a great spot to fit into plans to see a small independent film screening just down the street or go upscale to the Edison speakeasy around the corner. Menu is a little short on things like salad or veggies but Indian entrees, lamb burger and coconut broth mussels are great choices. Their naan is excellent with various sauces available."

The second floor dining room at Legal Harborside offers a focused menu of cuisine prepared with sensible creativity for celebratory eating and private dining events. Complementing the dinner menu is an aperitif cocktail list and a unique selection of artisan wines, each produced from a specific terroir representing some of the world’s most classic regions, from family-owned vineyards. Each of the vintages is unique to Legal Harborside within Massachusetts. The design of the restaurant takes full advantage of the harbor view and is reminiscent of a ship’s dining room, with a curved rosewood ceiling and glossy black columns inspired by the mast of a ship that anchor the space. A lounge off the grand spiral staircase and two oceanfront rooms, with recessing doors for privacy, are available for special events. An intimate patio with outdoor fireplace offers dining and drinks in-season. Named a “Best New Restaurant” by Esquire, 2011.

"As longstanding fans of Legal Seafood, we expected quality food but wondered if a fine dining experience was in the cards. The second floor Dining Room isn't fussy but it is a definite "outing" and beautifully fit the Valentine's Day evening for everyone we spotted in the restaurant. Service was attentive without being intrusive and the menu options were excellent. And yes, great seafood was available in plentitude!"

"Catalyst is no longer the new kid on the block but has proven to be a consistently wonderful addition to the fine dining options available near MIT. Food is attractive, interesting and the modern setting is aesthetic without being cold."
