You feel a great energy when you walk into the Glass House Tavern. The decor is soothing and warm and truly makes the customer feel welcome. The prompt, friendly service is delightful and the food is incredible.

Executive Chef Craig Cupani has created a contemporary American menu that sets this restaurant apart from the other choices in the neighborhood. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the emphasis here and the results are fantastic.

Chef Michael Psilakis and partner Donatella Arpaia have moved their rustic Greek gem, Kefi, to a larger space at 505 Columbus Avenue. The new, 200-seat interior evokes the feeling of a palatial Greek hideaway broken up into several smaller dining rooms to keep Kefi’s intimate appeal.

The menu of favorites straight from Psilakis’ childhood will remain the same with some new additions. Signature dishes like Baccala, crispy-fried cod with garlic potatoes and tomato, Grilled Octopus with bean salad, and Hilopita, baked pasta with rabbit ragout and béchamel are still on offer. Additions include Grilled Sardines with chopped “Greek Salad” and garlic sauce, Macaronia Spestofai, tubular pasta with Greek sausage, peppers, onions, tomato and feta and an entirely new section of Greek Sandwiches featuring house-made sausages and pork and lamb gyro.

Chef Saul Bolton's ode to Brooklyn Italian, Red Gravy serves a mean tomato sauce, house extruded pasta as well as fish, meat and anti-pasti. Join us for a piatto del giorno or choose from the full menu. Sunday dinner includes a hearty "Red Gravy", red sauce with lamb ribs, pork sausage and meatballs. Weekend brunch is a pasta and egg influenced menu. Large tables are welcome.

"Food is good. Evocative of 'old-fashioned' Italian-American restaurants, but at prices that are present day. Not enough here is special enough to set this apart. The real old-fashioned I-A restaurants that still exist are a better choice."

The Cecil, created by New York businessman Richard Parsons and noted restaurateur and chef Alexander Smalls, is New York City’s first Afro-Asian-American brasserie.

Inspired by the travels, exploration and study of the African Diaspora of Chef Smalls, The Cecil will offer a global adventure in tastes and flavors as diverse and dynamic as the community in which the restaurant resides. Its goal is to connect communities through food, comfort and hospitality.

The 56-seat neighborhood spot is a modern interpretation of a public house, offering casual food, well-crafted cocktails and an extensive selection of intriguing and affordable wines. In the spirit of every great pub, guests are welcomed to drop in for anything from a drink and a quick bite on the way home after work, to joining with friends or family in sharing a meal.

Chef Wylie Dufresne, along with Chef de Cuisine Ryan Henderson, apply innovative techniques in the kitchen at Alder, taking familiar dishes and flavor combinations and presenting them in their own unique style, celebrating New York City’s diverse food culture in the process. Dufresne and Henderson find their inspiration in their metropolitan surroundings: New York is a city where we can source the best ingredients from around the world and turn them into something distinctly American.

"Food was delicious (Julian Medina is an excellent chef). However, it was not crowded and I repeatedly had to look for a waiter. It's new, so we'll cut them some slack.."
