Catherine"s Restaurant is a charming BYOB nestled in the heart of Chester County's horse country. An upscale casual destination restaurant, located in the historic (c.1851) Unionville General Store, Catherine's is 'dining at it's BEST.' (Philadelphia Inquirer) Chef Kevin McMunn's "Wild Mushroom & Lump Crab Soup is EXQUISITE." Craig Laban. Catherine's is one of the Delaware Valley's top BYOB's & has earned many accolades since opening in West Chester in 1999! Catherine's is continually rated EXCELLENT by Zagat. Chef Kevin McMunn and his partner & wife Marybeth Brown are an exceptional team that pay homage to Brown's grandmother, Catherine, with their warm and welcoming hospitality and unbelievably delicious food! The gorgeous dining room is lit entirely by candles - over 125 - which adds to the special touch of mini flashlights which come with every menu. Enjoy Lunch and weekend Brunch on the patio. The Blueberry Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are the perfect way to end the weekend! <br />

"My husband and I are so upset. We've lived in the area for over eight years and never stopped in for a meal. We finally made it here for brunch last week. WE LOVED EVERYTHING. The bacon is thick and melts in your mouth. The sausage is delicious. The pancakes and french toast mmmm. They have different mixers for the champagne we brought. We definitely have to go here for dinner now. We've been to all the local places from Kennett to West Chester to Exton for brunch. I now believe this is the best around."

The inspiration for Le Virtù (The Virtues) comes from our experiences at the tables of family, friends and farm restaurants all over Abruzzo. Each dish is rooted in or inspired by Abruzzese culinary tradition, ingredients or philosophy. We serve the cuisine of the shepherds, farmers and fishermen of Italy"s wildest, most unspoiled region. We source all we can from the surrounding "terra": naturally raised pork from Berks County; lamb, chicken and rabbit from Lancaster County; New Jersey and Pennsylvania produce. What we can't find locally, we import from Abruzzo: artisanal honey and cheeses (some of the rarest in America); L'Aquila saffron; dried pastas; even the flour we use to make our fresh pasta. We are one of few restaurants in America so dedicated to the culinary traditions of a specific region of Italy and one of the country's most authentic Italian dining experiences.

"I was looking forward to going here based on previous reviews. My husband and I were very disappointed with our experience. The desserts and the ravioli were the only good tastes here. When we go out to eat we expect to eat better at the restaurant than we would at home. We did not here. We shared all of our plates and ordered several appetizers to really get the experience. The food was bland and boring. We thought we went on an off night because it was so close to the holidays. We went back a few weeks later because we thought we would get a better experience. We were wrong. The food was hit and miss again. Some dishes were too salty to be edible. I wanted to like this place but I'm afraid it is not the case. Perhaps the owner lost focus on this restaurant while opening the other. I am afraid all the recognition this place received is misplaced."
