Cafe Deluxe, an American bistro combining the charm of a neighborhood restaurant with the energy of a bustling European eatery, serves fresh and innovative classics in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Washingtonians have enjoyed the friendly service and casual dining experience for nearly 20 years. The diverse brunch, lunch and dinner menus combine traditional fare like Steak Frites and Grilled Meatloaf with menu favorites ranging from the Spinach, Feta and Tomato Omelet for brunch to the Grilled Atlantic Salmon Nicoise Salad, and the Fra Diavolo Mussels to the Ahi Tuna Tacos.

"Met a friend for lunch at the Tysons Corner location. Top two points are the food (lamb sandwich with spinach [instead of lettuce] and red pepper wonderful; friend's spicy salmon wrap also deemed terrific) and (2) the service: even at a busy lunch time, our server did not rush us and was well-versed on all the menu items. The one drawback was the noise level -- really loud. Perhaps it is only that way at lunch, but I doubt it. There's no real separation between the bar and the dining areas, and the tables do seem to be rather close together.
For those taking the Silver Line Metro extension to Tysons to get here: I came via Metro and it took me 20 minutes once exiting the Metro stop, had to ask 3 different folks at the Mall for directions (all of whom gave me wrong answers), and finally called the restaurant, to figure out how to get there on foot. Once you figure it out, it's fine. But do your routing research first if you use the Silver Line. Worth it for the food. I will likely return at off-hours just for the food.

Darlington House is a historic Row house that has been transformed into a multi-level restaurant & lounge in the heart of DuPont Circle. Fabio and Patricia Beggiato have poured all their passion and training into every aspect of this house and created a lively restaurant serving rustic yet refined Italian cooking using simple, fresh organic and sustainable ingredients. A breathtaking urban scape through bay windows in the main Dining Room and Circle Bar (1st floor), make this one of DC's most charming dining rooms. The Cantina Pub (street level)is a rustic, casual and family friendly neighborhood bar with great Pub Grub, TV's & a delightful outdoor patio. The second floor Library is a perfect venue for your next private affair; seating up to 70 & receptions up to 150. Exquisite cocktails and an extensive and thoughtful wine & beer list make Darlington House the perfect place to relax with friends & neighbors. Brunch is served every Sat & Sunday.

"Friend of mine took me here for a birthday lunch. This is the former space of the old Dupont Circle bar Childe Harold. The downstairs is still a bar/cantina (haven't ventured there), but upstairs is a very nice, and I think underrated dining restaurant offering Italian fare. The menu was somewhat limited, but the restaurant tends to serve only freshly made items (including the pastas -- that's a good thing). I had the best risotto I've had since a trip to Florence (saffron with beef ragu) while my lunch companion had lasagna -- a signature dish for any Italian-themed restaurant which she also said was among the best she'd ever had. We started with a fabulous arugula and pear salad (excellent). Wine list was good (nothing too outrageous). Service was impeccable and the waiter patient and helpful. Having said all that, we were there at lunch; had plenty of room and the decibel level was on the quiet side. There is a very small bar area upstairs. Because the food was so outstanding, I would like to return in the evening. The ambience could be different and perhaps louder given it's upstairs from what I've read is a very active (!) bar. Recommend for a quiet lunch for sure -- I'll be back."

"A much delayed review of this place where a friend and I went for Christmas dinner -- in the evening (730p). One of the few places open on Christmas night that wasn't the old traditional Christmas dinner menu. It was fairly full on the night. Food was terrific and the server was particularly helpful in guiding us through the options. All in all, a very enjoyable non-traditional Christmas meal. It was our first time here,
I have since been back for lunch and dinner ... Consistently good, and the added advantage of easy Metro (Court House/Orange Line) access. I recommend the smaller (mezza)plates, particularly the sujok (beef & lamb sausages cooked with tomatoes).
Atmosphere nice; not too loud (although early evening can be a bit challenging, not unusual for venues in this area). Definitely worth a trip.
