"Our waiter made us feel like he wanted to be any place but waiting on us. Therefore, his service was poor, not helpful describing the food, never a smile on his face, never asking if we wanted coffee, dessert. The only good consistent service was from the busboy! Unfortunately, due to the service, we won't be back."

"This restaurant hums like a well-oiled machine. We dined there during restaurant week and even though packed, the service was excellent, thanks to Vincenzo, our waiter. and the food was quite good. The steaks were cooked perfectly, were tender but a bit over salted. Enjoyed the excellent homemade whipped cream ( a rarity in restaurants ) on the desserts but would have preferred the carrot cake be refrigerated, not served at room temp. We wish the regular menu was more affordable so we could return more often."

Although many restaurants in the theater district bill themselves as trattorias, few achieve the authentic feel and taste of Maria Pia. This charming Italian eatery boasts comfortable indoor seating for 80, a sun-dappled, 20-seat, rear outdoor garden, and a genial mood that makes the menu that much more savory. The three-course prix fixe menus offer dishes slick enough for savvy palates that still taste as if they were cooked up by mama Maria herself.

"Ate there pre-theater dinner. food was fine but tables were so close that you couldn't have a private conversation. If you are just going there to eat, fine. But if you want to converse with those you are dining with, go somewhere else."

Set in the sleek W Hotel Times Square setting, Blue Fin oohs and aahs its audience with a prominent raw bar, extensive sushi menu and much more! Unwind at either of Blue Fin's two bars and sip a seasonal cocktail or glass of wine from the 400+ bottle wine list. Up early for a matinee or just on your way to the office? "We had a pre-theater lunch. The space is lovely, but as other reviewers stated, when the doors open you definitely feel the cold air on your legs, and we weren't sitting anywhere near the doors! The food...we started with the lobster bisque, which was very flavorful, but served warm, not hot. We shared the halibut with gnocchi and the lobster crab roll. The gnocchi was quite good but the halibut was slightly overlooked, without much taste. The lobster and crab were overpowered by the bacon, so after picking out the bacon we were able to taste the lobster and crab. Our waiter,Sean, was very helpful and appropriate. Going to the theater again next week but will look for a restaurant that is more reasonably priced with better food."

New York Times Review. (10/23, 2010 by M. H. Reed) WORTH IT! "Rediscovering the Art of Classic Details - Diners missing the serenity and Old World details once offered at the county’s high-end restaurants, many of which are now defunct, can rediscover some of those niceties at Il Castello."

Zagat Survey 2011/2012: Food: 24, Decor: 19, Service: 25. This tiny jewel of a place in Mamaroneck, NY packs a big punch with delicious Northern Italian delicacies and an excellent wine list delivered via an impeccable staff. Rich wood, chandeliers and civil sound levels provide an impress-a-date setting at a cost that is not that expensive for the neighborhood. It is recognized for excellence and one of the best Italian restaurants in Mamaroneck.

The Rye Grill and Bar reopened to large crowds in January 2009 after a major renovation that boasts four separate dining rooms, fireplaces and a front porch. Long-time patrons will be relieved to know that it's still the casual neighborhood spot they've always loved. The Grill offers the same friendly service and menu favorites that made it a crowd pleaser for fifteen years, from it's fried calamari, Cajun chicken quesadillas and 4-layer dip to its salads, pizzas, sandwiches, sliders and burgers. Popular entrees include the Rye Grill's signature farfalle with hot Italian sausage, pan roasted filet mignon, pot chicken and fish selections. Guests may have drinks and appetizers in its lively mahogany bar room on the first floor or enjoy a bit more quiet at the nautical themed bar upstairs. Dining room options accommodate all for, dinner and private parties. Valet parking is available at lunch during the week.
