Kellari Taverna is located in the heart of New York City, three blocks from Grand Central Station, Times Square and the Theater District. The dining room decor evokes a subterranean wine cellar designed with contemporary elegance. Kellari features the traditional Greek taverna specialties, such as grilled whole fish, prime chops and meats, and an eclectic selection of contemporary Hellenic savory appetizers ("mezedes") created by our Corporate Executive Chef, Gregory Zapantis. Our menu also features a variety of Greek cheeses, baked or flamed 'Saganaki' style, as well as a selection of Raw and Marinated seafood. The Kellari dessert menu includes innovative specialties such mastiha pudding and warm sokolata with halva ice cream as as well as traditional favorites such as Baklava and Galaktoboureko. Kellari Taverna offers an extensive international wine list featuring the largest selection of Greek wines available in any U.S. restaurant. About 24 wines are available by-the-glass.

"We met friends for brunch to celebrate a birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted by a most friendly host, and were seated at a lovely private table. (One of my pet peeves about restuarants is how close the tables are to each other, and you end up hearing conversations not meant for you.) The brunch menu was quite extensive with two courses, and unlimited brunch drinks are included. I highly recommend the frittada and the crab burger. Our waitress was very attentive, refilling our glasses as soon as they were empty (including champagne) A live jazz combo provided lovely background music. And, a celebratory dessert topped off a lovely birthday brunch."

The dining room combines casual comfort and sophistication with touches both rough-hewn and refined. The main attraction is the open kitchen’s rôtisserie ovens and their fine meats, poultry and fish turning over open flames. Abundant fresh vegetables, decadent potato dishes, heart-warming desserts, tempting cocktails & bites at the bar complete the picture. At lunch, we add generous main course salads and tempting pot pies, all in the spirit of Chef Chad Brauze's soul-satisfying French-American fare complemented by the warm welcome of your host, Georgette Farkas. The “ROTISSERIE TABLE” private room seats ten.

"We enjoyed a perfectly delicious and delightful dinner to celebrate my birthday. The hostess took note of my husband's request for a more private table; and the energetic and enthusiastic waiter took us through the menu and faciltated the ordering process. The delicious dishes arrived in a timely manner, and the dinner was topped off by a candle in our shared dessert with my name in chocolate decorating the plate. I can't wait to celebrate another special occasion at Rotisserie Georgette."
