Dominique's Reviews

Now celebrating its fiftieth anniversary under the ownership of Georges Briguet, since 1964 Le Périgord has offered classic French cuisine in an elegant setting in midtown Manhattan. Recently renovated, Le Périgord is a premier destination for French cuisine in New York. The New York Times calls it “a French restaurant the way French restaurants used to be,” complete with white tablecloths and exemplary service from wait staff in tuxedos.<br />Besides tableside service of Dover sole, duck à l’orange and rack of lamb, the traditional menu also includes such staples as individual beef Wellington, pike quenelles, coquilles St. Jacques and kidneys in mustard sauce. And don’t forget to leave room for the fabulous soufflés and the legendary “temptation trolley” of desserts, which always includes such timeless favorites as tarte Tatin, chocolate mousse and floating islands. The extensive, award-wining wine list includes a fine selection of old and recent vintages at sensible prices.

"Very nice family dinner at le Perigord for my wife's birthday. Food is superb, service is impeccable and very attentive, the wine list is extremely comprehensive and interesting (and wine is served decanted, as it should be). A superb, classy and classic French restaurant fit for an exceptional dinner."

Located in the heart of the historic downtown City Market area, a.lure is an exciting new addition to the Savannah restaurant scene. a.Lure's contemporary American Cuisine with Low Country twists complements our rustic modern ambiance. Our local farm to table philosophy is supplemented by exciting offerings from around the world. You can sample local grouper or big eye tuna flown in from Hawaii just for a.Lure. Regional produce, oysters, blue crab meat, and fresh Georgia shrimp are just a few of the locally sourced items on our menu, as well Nebraska corn fed angus steaks, regional and Niman Ranch pork products, scallops from Maine, and Wagyu beef. We transform these wonderful ingredients into exciting dishes ranging from Low Country influenced offerings to globally inspired fare. Superb service and a gem from our ever expanding wine list will complete an amazing dining experience. Our goal at a.lure is to anticipate all of your needs and to exceed all your expectations.

"Spent a week in Savannah around New Year and tried a few places that were deemed good spots for foodies. a.Lure was, in my view, the best. Creative cuisine. Very attentive service. Decent wine list. Definitely a place where I will dine again the next time I am in Savannah."

Everything “a bistro should be”, this “delightful” Mamaroneck French bistro earns praise for its “approachable” menu of “heartwarming” fare, “excellent wines” and “inviting” atmosphere. “Warm service” and a “wonderful spirit” makes it a “keeper”; P.S. the Mondays, 3-course unlimited Mussels at $22.95,, Tuesdays No Corkage fee & Half price wine by the glass w/entree, Wednesdays, Prime Hanger Steak with a glass of Rosé at $24.95, Thursdays, 2-course Lobster Special at $28.95, and Fridays, Provencal Bouillabaisse at $29.95 are “the big bargains” here.

"We go there quite often and do not miss to visit with friends during Restaurant Week. Always good and reliable, this is probably the nicest restaurant on Mamaroneck Avenue. It manages to keep its class and European cuisine inspiration almost as an island oo tradition and quality."

"In my view, this is the best seafood place around. Very fresh, prepared to perfection to preserve the delicate flavors of fish. The Loup de Mer is my favorite and is out of this world. Nice wine list with a few Greek nectars to discover. Service is perfect. A great place."
