Fine food, wine and drinks, delivered with uncommon hospitality. Going out of our way to make our guest feel good is just as important as delivering excellent well crafted food.

A broad base of classic French Culinary Technique is the cornerstone for New American Cuisine, which is a true melting pot of cultures, ingredients, and techniques. We love the idea of applying modern day sensibilities to traditional recipes. "We wanted to go back for a second visit and see how Postero was settling in on Main Street. A different menu - always good to see the kitchen trying new dishes. It was a brutally cold evening, so there was only one other table occupied, plus another couple at the bar, but that didn't take away from the experience. We shared the bacon pimento cheese, an interesting serving approach - loading up the celery sticks with the cheese. Our entrees were the steak and pork, both excellently prepared. My steak was a melt in the mouth treat ... better than many so called steakhouses which serve up crusty, chewy and over-seasoned pieces of steak.
Overall, we felt this dinner was better than our first ... a move in the right direction. Great!"

Led by chef and owner Hector Diaz, Modesto features a farm to table approach to upscale wood-fired Italian. The menu changes twice daily and includes a variety of fresh seafood, fine meats, and house made pastas. Pizzas are hand-tossed and cooked in a wood fired oven made in Italy. To compliment your meal, our bar offers over 30 exclusively Italian wines as well as a dynamic list of classic and cutting edge cocktails. Desserts are made from scratch, including our famous tiramisu, and we proudly serve 1000 Faces Coffee.

"We made Valentine's day reservations over a week ahead of the date, Modesto Trattoria was one of the few in the Asheville area still offering reservations. It would be unfair to do an in-depth review considering this is probably one of the busiest nights of the year ... and the patrons are mainly just couples. Consequently, the place was packed and super busy, the tables had been spaced out with just enough room to get in and out and also to be served ... but any intimate conversation would also likely be heard by the two neighboring tables. That being said, our table was near a window, so we didn't have immediate neighbors, although the servers needed to choreograph getting past us to the other tables. The food, we tried lamb shank and seafood, was fine, maybe the accompaniments were a little too much of everything being mixed up together, but the kitchen must have been busy and performed admirably. We need go back again, on a more "regular" evening, to get a better perspective of their capabilities."

Brasilia Churrasco Steakhouse is a unique, all you can eat “Churrascaria” Featuring a full Salad Bar with over 25 items, 5 Brazilian Hot Dishes and a “parade” of 16 different types of Grilled Meats sliced at your table by our Gauchos. "I've eaten at a number of churrascarias in Brazil. They are big, bustling places, serving rodizio style ... families eating out, huge colorful salad bars and a constant stream of waiters (gauchos) going from table to table, each with their own meat offering. It's a sensory experience, the colors, smells and taste are all in hyper-drive.
We visited Asheville's attempt to bring a piece of this Brazil experience to Western NC. It was a cold evening and probably only three tables were occupied. Therein lies the issue, while the salad bar was varied and generous (although a few items looked a little wilted) and the meat was tender, flavorful and also varied, it lacked the ambiance ... too few customers. The potential is there, the basic infrastructure and ingredients are there, it just needs to be a lot busier. Eating the great meats at a busy churrascaria is a skill in knowing when to flip over your red/green marker, or to catch the right gaucho, to get more of the one meat dish you crave.
Yes, it's fixed price, although pretty reasonable compared to other churrascarias we've eaten at in the US. However, it's also entertainment ... have fun! If you don't know how it works, your waiter will help, ours was gregarious and willing to help in any way he could."

Relying on timeless décor, gentle service, and inventive cuisine the Admiral serves delicious food without the restraints of convention. The menu changes daily to utilize seasonal flavors, locally produced foods, and new ideas. Reservations are strongly suggested, although bar seating is available on a first come first serve basis.

"A neighborhood gem! We have been here a number of times. It's a place you would walk past, and likely dismiss, unless you knew of it or had been there before. Inside it's warm, cozy and friendly ... and seems to get better on each visit. Our recommendation, in order to taste a selection of their outstanding and constantly changing menu - try a number of their small plates, and share. This time they had grilled chive salad - outstanding! We also had the sweetbreads, short ribs and tartare, which were also incredible. A great place to eat, where the chefs and wait staff have a passion (and pride) for the food they serve. It results in a great dining experience - thanks!!"

"Our first visit to Postero since they opened in late 2014. Decor is a little bland, but we were seated upstairs with a great view of the downstairs and the staff preparing each meal ... a plus. We visited on a cold January mid-week night, it was fairly quiet ... but not empty. Warm and friendly service, a reasonable and fairly priced wine selection, plus an emphasis on quality, local food. We shared the scallops as an appetizer - incredibly fresh and tender - then tried the pork chop and NC trout. The food was excellent, each dish had nuances to make it unique and interesting. We wish Postero all the best in Hendersonville - they will be a regular part of our dining schedule."

"We had out of town guests visiting, decided to give High Cotton another try. A great view, a wine list to suit all tastes and budgets, plus outstanding food! Our party ordered the pork chop, trout, duck and shrimp and grits ... everyone commented very favorably about their dish. I had the shrimp and grits, which has to be the best variation of this dish I have ever tried. The only negatives were a very noisy group at the bar, which spoiled the ambiance, and the pecan pie for dessert ... more like a tartlet and too dry for my liking.
There are lots of great places to eat in Greenville. This was a huge improvement over our last visit, which was some time ago. High Cotton now clearly competes with the best in the city ... we will be back!"

"We were passing through the city, only had time for lunch. A friend recommended Herbsaint, we were not disappointed!
Located in the business district, we went for outside seating ... had our dog with us, the outside seating is dog friendly ... enjoyed our lunch as the tram cars and the rest of NO went on around us. The gumbo is excellent, selected a number of small plates, but we would need go back again to do the menu justice. Overall, a great place, gave us a peek at the finer dining options in NO ... resolved we must go back.
