ilili is New York’s premier contemporary Lebanese restaurant offering inspired Mediterranean cuisine. The menu mixes authentic Lebanese dishes with modern Mediterranean influences to create a culinary journey for the palate and senses. Complementing the international cuisine, ilili offers an impressive wine list that includes wines from all over the world and features favorites from Lebanon and the Mediterranean. The restaurant’s decor echoes the diverse menu, combining the architectural richness of Old Lebanon with an attitude and style that is unmistakably New York. A DJ sets the mood with music from around the globe and soft, amber lighting punctuated by candles create a sexy, sophisticated atmosphere in which to enjoy a relaxed meal. The cuisine, décor and ambience come together to create a new world for your senses to explore, whispering gently in your ear, ilili.

"I love Ilili and have recommended it to friends who love it too. It's hard to find a good restaurant not far from Penn Station, so it's a real gem. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, the place is hip and attractive, and the food is phenomenal! Love the variety you get when ordering small plates. Each time I visit, I try something new and have loved it all!"

"I was actually a little disappointed with our dining experience. The place is beautiful, but food was not exceptional, service was not good, and cost was high. After our entrees were served, we never saw our waiter again. I was never asked if I wanted another glass of wine. We sat for a long time until someone else noticed that we were done and asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. Same issue when we were waiting for the check. I would not return or recommend it."

"This meal was so fantastic. It was my second time visiting and I loved every bite. Great to go with a group (although we were just 3). We ordered a bunch of small plates. Loved the delicious variety. Everything was awesome. My favorite dish was the shrimp salad. Sounds pedestrian, but the greens included mint and parsley and it had some sort of pickled (I think) lemon rind. So YUMMY! There are not many good restaurants in this area. Great when looking for something near Penn Station/Madison Square Garden. I highly recommend!"

Mother nature is a living canvas. Winter is the essence; the pencil sketch. Spring is the creativity as the oils begin to be applied in a mixture of colors. Summer is the painting reaching its maturity ready for exhibit. And Fall is the many years of the painting being displayed as it slowly weathers from the elements until its hidden spirit is once again revealed, the pencil strokes; "a Pentimento".

Inspired by the spirit of Mother nature, culinary artist and owner Dennis Young reflects this progression by creating a series of menus that are in sync with each of the seasons. And like the seasons each menu is merely a layer on the culinary canvas that chef and artist Dennis Young has been painting on for more than half of his life, and if one looks closely you can see through all of those layers and find a covered essence, "a Pentimento".

"I haven't been to Pentimento in a long time and was really pleased with the new menu. The food and service were fantastic. I recall limited selections in the past. The menu has more to choose from now. Although I did not get any of the cheese or cured meats, I look forward to trying that in the future. Will definitely go back!"
