"With the opening of Ristorante Morini, the neighborhood finally has a dining destination about which to be proud. The food, service, excellent wine list, and civilized atmosphere are sure to win a loyal following from the well-heeled residents of this zip code, who can afford the steep prices. The pastas live up to the high standard Michael White has set at his other restaurants like Marea and Morini downtown. Even desserts were up to the standards of the rest of the meal -- not always the case. Bravissimo, Chef White! You have done it again!"

"This attractive space has been a series of failed restaurants, and sadly this new tenant is likely to follow the same pattern. On a recent blustery day, I had lunch with a friend. We chose the prix fixe lunch and had three savory courses, all huge and except for the salad, all overcooked, over-sauced, overly rich dishes. Our charming Italian waiter couldn't have been nicer, the sun was shining through the large windows, and the room was quiet, thanks to there being only two other occupied tables. If only management would pay as much attention to what is going on in the kitchen as they did to their interior design this would be a neighborhood favorite. Perhaps the food is better at dinner, but I won't be back to try it."

Renowned Chef Michel Richard, delivers his refreshingly inventive, signature culinary style reflected with touches of whimsy and clever presentations at his newest venue. Villard Michel Richard Bistro showcases Michel’s masterful culinary techniques and vibrant artistic imagination. Located in the historic Villard Mansion at 50th and Madison Avenue, the restaurant features French-American cuisine served in a casual bistro-style setting. An ideal place for power breakfast meetings, with American and Continental breakfasts served, along with specialty morning fare. For lunch and dinner, classics such as lobster bisque, roasted chicken and hanger steak au poivre, are joined by signature items like faux gras with country pate, lobster burger with baked potato tuiles, fried chicken, and Michel’s napoleon for dessert. We look forward to welcoming you.

"How wonderful to see the elegant Villard House restored to its pre-Le Cirque elegance. And how even more wonderful to have the superb cooking of Michel Richard to complete the heavenly dining experience. Although the sumptuous dining room of the bistro portion of the new restaurants at the Villard mansion helmed by the renowned Richard hardly resembles a bistro in any traditional sense, the menu features such comfort food favorites as burgers, fried chicken, and profiteroles -- the most delicate version imaginable. On our first, but definitely not last visit, our fantastic waitperson anticipated and fulfilled our every wish. Even wine by the glass was extraordinary, a great Syrah served at the perfect temperature. Bravo, M. Richard!"
