"Went for restaurant week dinner. Started with the fried rock shrimp with ramen noodle salad,,very tasty. My friend had the sushi roll also good though the crab flavor kind of got lost amidst the sauces.. Then we split the branzino, also tasty, a couple of errant bones, served with summer squashes. Desserts were nice as well as mussel amuse bouche.
I had not been to this restaurant in years and feel that the ambiance was better when the "inside" restaurants also had tables on the plaza and a view of plaza now mostly obscured. Also the music from the bar on plaza did not add to the "fine dining" experience.
Appreciated the reduced price wine bottles on the RW menu!"

"Went for RW lunch..started with the spicy chicken balls...large portion and very tasty. Then had the pork belly buns...served open..like very soft tacos...delicious. Ended with poundcake with peaches. Added the wine pairing and got 3 very good , good pours.
Was very impressed with service...esp their patience with next table. Dad with two young daughters, around 8 and 10?..tells server girls don't like anything spicy or raw...Hello an Asian place called Spice Market is perhaps not your best choice esp. since he said he'd been there before so knows the deal and there are Italian, Mexican, burger, pizza, French, etc. nearby. After first course ordered was "too spicy" , he was a bit testy, servers perfectly calm ,and ended well."

Chef Bill Telepan acclaimed former chef of the 3-star Judson Grill will serve the very best and freshest of seasonal foods impeccably prepared and paired with an interesting, hand- picked and reasonably priced selection of wines. Ruth Reichl described his cooking as “…extremely eloquent; each of [his] unassuming dishes roars with flavor, and the minute you finish one bite you instantly want another. His direct style draws diners into a vibrant interplay of textures, tastes and colors.” Telepan, an exciting new destination located in the heart of the Upper West Side, will welcome fine dining enthusiasts from around the city, as well as the pre- and post-theater Lincoln Center crowd.

"Pre Lincoln Center in the rain! As pre-ballet did not gofor tasty menu..another time! Started with the smoked trout..took awhile to be served but when it arrived realized they must have been making the delicious, warm blini served with it! Delicious. Then had the pea pancake..the pancakes served with agnolotti, also pea with marscaone, mushrooms, spinach and pea puree...refreshing and tasty. Nicechoice of bread and yummy butter.

Over the years together, Wolfgang Ban and Eduard Frauneder have perfected their own modern take on Austrian cuisine - one which combines traditional techniques, contemporary innovations, and updates to some of their favorite childhood dishes. The team behind the prestigious private catering group, Elderberry Catering, chefs Ban and Frauneder, together with a small group of investors, have opened Seasonal Restaurant & Weinbar, their first venture open to the public. Their goal is to provide elegant home-cooking in a sleek but welcoming setting.

The chefs at Seasonal pride themselves on maintaining the utmost quality in their cuisine, and therefore, consistent with its name, the kitchen uses only the freshest seasonal ingredients. The visual presentation of each plate is the final step in the process, and the chefs have ensured that the look of each plate matches the refinement of the food itself and the décor, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

"Slightly hidden on a block with lots of construction at the time. Then noticed the "B" rating..disturbing particularly with the construction! Bt was heading to theatre and friend was running late so went in.....
Interesting menu, hard to choose ...lobster, egg, hen of woods starter was divine, spatzle tasty, good bread and spreads. Service started out great fell off a bit as it was not crowded and staff started talking amongst themselves..an unfortunate, common problem if owner or strong manager not present these days...bad enough that it disrupts service but I'd also prefer to hear my companion's conversation...not the servers!

"Don't know if I would come otherwise....
Noisy and crowded and things tend to get missed. been there twice and have yet to have bread whilst tables around me did. Wine carafes aer very over priced ..as are bottles.
Food over priced as well but pretty good...split a Med salad..had to flag down a serving person, several tries to get plates after the bowl was unceremoniously plopped on table.
Shrimp with grits was delicious! A slice of bread would have been nice as the sauce was lovely!

"Really wanted to love this place..been meaning to try for a bit. Looks nice when you enter....main dining room a bit of let down. Someone in kitchen banging salt shakers on to a tray was the welcoming noise. Lots of wait staff talking to each other , but mysteriously gone when you need a sharper knife to cut the over done on top chicken breast. Starter arrived same time as bread and olive oil. Tried the crispy phyllo dough stuffed with feta and dill..could have used a sauce or dip. The rest of the chicken breast was good as was the stuffing and sauce.
If I went back would stick to mezze items. An owner or manager is needed even at the early pre-theatre dinner times to oversee staff."

"to the W. 70's. Had an early pre-Lincoln Center dinner. My friend had to cancel so didn't get to try as many small dishes as I planned. Olive bread(I found one slice of olive in 4 slices)and butter in olive oil with sea salt and red pepper brought to tablvery tasty. Then beet salad with hazel nut vinaigrette..not the best presentation in bowl, sweet beets but average. Then hALF PORTION OF VERY GOOD CHORIZO CRUSTED SCALLOPS AND LEMON RISOTTO. LEAST EXPENSIVE WINE BY GLASS. CASK GRUNER $11.00.
Agree with reviews that say a bit pricey for portion size and style of restaurant..thought the risotto portion was good for half.$18.00. My service was good but if I'd had the other waiter..obsequious to older couple.
Hope they straighten out"
