"Last day of RW lunch. The space is calming and spacious and the wait staff delightfully
efficient.
The choices were diverse..I started with the roasted beet salad..delicious and plentiful and the catfish bahn mi...fresh and tasty!
Dessert was divine...a banana cream puff!
I did the wine pairing..had to go back to work but assumed the glasses would be tastings rather than full pours...au contraire..all three of them!
What away to end a work week..I will be returning for regular menu!"

Established in 1936, Monkey Bar was returned to its former glory in 2009 by Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter.

The dining room's lush red leather banquettes and dim, attractive lighting have restored the fizzy thrill of dining in a restaurant - both attractive and cozy - and harken back to a bygone era when a gentleman never left the house without a tie and a lady always had a pair of white gloves in her purse.

Monkey Bar's menu boasts American classics alongside seasonal dishes using sustainable and organic products whenever possible.

"RW lunch. Food and service did not match setting. Servers seemed to be over whelmed and runners did not pick up slack, i.e. offering fresh pepper, cheese, the next table had to ask for hot sauce for shellfish and lemon for salmon!
Soup was cup size rather than bowl..first time I've really noticed portion size during RW..and the crispy prosciutto was just hard in the celery root soup.
Had to remeind waiter about wine when halfway thru soup..it was then he offered pepper.
Pasta was fine , flagged down runner for pepper..and dessert nice.
Total experience lacking..did enjoy the room but sad to see the olive stools in bar did not survive re-do!"

Shortly after the original Sant Ambroeus opened its doors in Milan in 1936, a devoted following emerged. This celebrated pasticceria and confetteria became the meeting place for the local intelligentsia, whether beginning their day with Sant Ambroeus’s legendary cappuccino and cornetto, savoring panini at lunch, or spending their evening enjoying refined cuisine in the restaurant’s elegant dining room.
We translated these old-world sensibilities of Sant Ambroeus to modern times, and imported our rich culinary traditions to New York. Each of our restaurants remains authentic to our Milanese origins, and we continue to serve our culturally inspired delectables in a casual yet elegant environment.

"RW lunch. Great choices.....including vitello tonnato...very hard to find on NYC menus..as an appetizer choice! Wine pairing,,one for each course..offered for an additional $15.00. I started with the vitello, then pasta with veal Bolognese, and the Sant Ambroeus pastry for dessert! Superb!
Lovely atmosphere and attentive service! Perfect break in the workday!"

As one of the first restaurants to lead the Meatpacking District’s revival, Macelleria has proven itself to be a staple in an ever-changing neighborhood. Owned and operated by Violetta and Sergio Bitici, Macelleria's rustic, Northern Italian cuisine never disappoints. Using only the finest meats and home-made pastas, each visit to Macelleria is like sitting in on a Tuscan grandmother's Sunday dinner. Drop by and you're likely to see Robert DeNiro or Jay-Z dining in the restaurant's wine cellar, constructed in-part using a 16th-century fortress.

"Like the look..brick walls, heavy wood, art work befitting a spot in Meatpacking district!
Started with white bean soup...not just creamy...whole beans! Then as this is an Italian steakhouse went with the burger...cooked to order, good bun, fries, perfect.
Only one dessert offered with RW menu..brownie bites..dusted with powdered sugar, no cream or ice cream...nothing to write about...
Service fell off as meal progressed and not that busy..just a larger party which seems to throw places off these days!"

This Old Chelsea food hall is a New York original. The Red Cat's combination of come-as-you-are sensibilities and straightforward, satisfying, and occasionally irreverent cuisine instantly establish the restaurant as a favorite with New York diners. Andy Xu runs the kitchen that's become famous for such whimsical creations as Reuben Wontons with Red Cabbage Slaw and Pan Roasted Cod with Flageolets, Moroccan Olives, Oranges and Basil Oil. Such dishes only add to the restaurant's mystique as a place for all seasons, styles and spirits. As Frank Bruni wrote in the New York Times "The Red Cat feels vaguely colonial and tavern like, except when it feels downtown-gallery cool, and apart from those moments when it feels modestly and eclectically elegant."

If you are unable to book online, please call us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.

"Went for RW. Welcoming, friendly service. Delightful menu...3 choices for starters and mains, 2 for dessert. Delicious celery root soup with peeky toe crab and greens floating in the center. Then a generous serving of pork sausages with a tasty salad with gigantes and dates, etc. Dessert Chocolate pannacotta..ortheoneI went with a banana bread ice cream sandwich.

"RW lunch so perhaps a bit busier than usual for a Tuesday lunch? Not thrilled with reeption..young lady on phone. man at computer looking at seating chart. Wait. finally man says Yes..tell reservation.he says nothing.someone else asks how much longer they have to wait then he looks at me and says "Check your coat." I'm sure that is not the preferred version. Esp if Sirio was sitting at the little table btw reception desk and coat check as he was when I was leaving.
Other than that throughly enjoyable! Wonderful Creme of Chesnut soup, braised pork belly with black french lentils and the famed Creme Brulee!"

"The tasting lunch at $55.00 is indeed a bargain! Of course they get you with the wine prices but this is NYC not Paris! And there are choices in each of the five courses..great choices I had a hard time deciding! Plus two amuse bouches, a "special gift"(truffled scrambled egg with parm..a bowl of that would make a great lunch solo!) before main course and of course petit fours! Even a bread chariot!
The room is beautiful and comfortable, service attentive and friendly...perfect respite on a cold afternoon!"

Designed by partner Jean Denoyer, Orsay strikes that difficult balance of sophisticated-chic in a warm convivial atmosphere. Dark mahogany raised paneled walls meet Art Nouveau styled arches in a deep, creamy butter color. The floor is a work of art, Italian mosaic tiles in warm tones of precious metals hand laid in a beautiful fan pattern that floats in waves across the expanse of floor. Banquettes with high wood backs topped with frosted glass panels provide privacy if wanted, and the low, soft lighting emanates from Art Nouveau period chandeliers that Denoyer had custom designed. A 20-foot long zinc-topped wood bar shipped in one piece from France, and French doors that spill onto the sidewalk terrace, completing the feeling that you are in the 9th arrondisement in Paris. This sophisticated and elegant Parisian-style brasserie marries modern French cuisine and classic brasserie fare. Orsay's award-winning wine list includes all 300 predominantly French and American varietals.

"Orderec the much self touted cheese soufle..aware of 25 min wait listed on menu and reminded of it by waitress. Ordered sav blanc..waitress asked French or CA? Only one listed as Sav on menu..French is sancerre. Said CA.
Started with oysters..fine but no lemon slice? Servers around except when youneed one. Then souffle arrives..looks great..waitress and major domo rush over to ooh and how is it..it is hot and I don't know yet. Overcooked..more like cheesy bread and not even that cheesy..one spoonful that was souffle like and now I know why Bourdain hates truffle oil.
Charged for Sancerre."

"after sitting noticed waiter "adjusting" a light fixture. Pop no lights, music, fan. Staff still pouring water, waitress comes by after a few, I asked what was happening she said "I'm not the person to ask." A few minutes later music and fan back no lights. Finally lights! So we order. Starters fine..then mains...one guest ordered the chicken Pailllard..got Paella. So she had to wait for her chicken. One dessert ordered, one additional glass of wine and I asked if they had poire william.. Waitress said "What?"..I repeated it and said it was an eau de vie. She said "we have what's on the menu" I was looking at menu but companions said the look on her face was not pleasant.
Food good, atmosphere good...waitress...not so much. Shame..."
