Located in Downtown San Jose, Mezcal boasts one of the most distinctive dining rooms in San Jose. The brick exterior, metal work and indigenous Mexican motifs, sets the restaurant apart from its neighbors. Although the design is urban upscale, there is nothing watered down about the menu. Mezcal proudly serves authentic Oaxacan regional cuisine utilizing family recipes passed on from previous generations.

"The Enchilada Suizas were a surprise. Presented in layers, rather than rolled in tortillas, the flavors were very good. The plantains with vanilla ice cream were very delicious! The Mezcal was quite good, too!"

Left Bank is an authentic Parisian-style brasserie located in San Jose's vibrant Santana Row. Open since 2003, Left Bank transports guests to a quaint brasserie in Paris, where diners feast upon classic French cuisine in a charming brasserie setting along the boulevard, where people watching is at its best. Inside, the wonderful energy of an authentic French brasserie is in the air. Boasting Santana Row's largest bar, Left Bank is a place to see and be seen.

The large, casual elegant main dining room offers everything from a family table of 20, to a quiet, romantic table for two. The open exhibition kitchen provides onlookers a window into the magic our chefs create. Whether simply sipping a pastis or enjoying a full meal, diners capture the true feeling of the Rive Gauche in Paris.

"The Coq au vin was very good, as usual. The French onion soup was also good, but a little too much cheese and not enough broth. I ordered a glass of French champagne and it was bitter and I couldn't drink it. I then asked for the same drink as my husband's- a very good Margarita with Don Julio tequila. The drink I received was obviously not the same. The color was darker and the taste was different, not in a good way. The manager then made us both a new Margarita , which was good, but not as good as my husband's first one, which was delicious!"
