Who is Jack Dusty? Jack Dusty, so named for the 18th century short-hand term for the naval store clerk whose responsibility included doling out the daily lot of rum to sailors and maintaining the ship’s inventory of food supplies, offers guests a bevy of dining and drinking options with indoor/outdoor seating and views of sparkling Sarasota Bay and beyond. Jack Dusty features modern classic seafood, offers a lively bar and presents a prominent cocktail program.

"Always wonderful for lunch or dinner. We travel from Florida to the Bay Area, and always make sure to dine here. However this time (Sept 2014), we were very disappointed with the service....very, very, slow! The staff didn't seem very professional (need more training) and we had to ask for water 2 different times. We'll try again because the food is delicious!"

"We were sooo looking forward to dining at Pine. We arrived early (6;30) and were seated immediately. A young woman was our waitress, as we found out almost 10 minutes after sitting. Right, then we should have asked for another attendant. As she was not professionally trained and seemed to be more interested in talking to the bus boy then serving us dinner. The food was wonderful, the room beautiful, but the service DID effect our over all enjoyment."

"After all the articles and recommendations my husband and I were ready for an outstanding meal.....nope! Yes, it was fresh and it was good, but not memorable! The party of 8 in the same room as we were, made a service questionable...we had to ask for a water refill 2 times. We tried an contemporary French bistro in town named Francine, and enjoyed our meal much more."
