Experience the new db bistro moderne! Chef Daniel Boulud's contemporary French bistro has undergone a complete renovation. With the addition of a handsome new cocktail bar, and a newly-crafted menu db bistro serves updated bistro classics with a modern twist and market-driven French-American cuisine. <br /> <br />Located one block East of Times Square, db bistro is the perfect spot for pre- and post-theater dining, a Midtown business lunch or breakfast 'L'Express' of cappuccino and viennoisserie at the bar. A $48 pre-theater prix-fixe dinner menu is available in addition to a full a la carte menu. The Lunch Prix Fixe menu will have you back to your desk or off to a matinee quickly and affordably.<br /><br />db is happy to host large parties and private events from 14-165 guests.

"At the height of lunch hour, the room is pretty noisy, as the tables are close together. But the time hums along and all goes beautifully; the kitchen and service timing are in very good sync, and the food is wonderful. Also, the Restaurant Week menu wasn't scanty or paltry -- full of lovely choices."

"The food was excellent.
The service very unpolished.
It was slow (few diners), but the kitchen was slower (15-20 minutes between one course cleared and the next brought).
The entrance is on the ground floor, mid-block, on the 33rd Street side of the Empire State Building), hidden behind scaffolding that may be up for another year.
The decor is brown and drab and dimly lighted. Didn't seem stylish either.
I would say one of the Patina Group's misses, although there's time to fix it before the scaffolding comes down.

Chef Daniel Boulud’s vibrant Mediterranean menu offers flavors from France, Spain, Italy, Greece, North Africa and Turkey. There is an emphasis on grilled fish and meats as well as an abundance of fresh vegetables. With an entrance on West 64th Street, Boulud Sud is just steps from Manhattan’s Lincoln Center and is adjacent to Bar Boulud and Épicerie Boulud. <br /><br />Monday through Friday Boulud Sud offers a $29.00 three-course lunch in addition to our a la carte menu. Sunday brunch is served from 11:00am-3:00pm with a $32 two-course prix-fixe supplementing the regular menu. At dinner, Boulud Sud offers our full a la carte menu as well as a $60 three course prix fixe menu featuring Boulud Sud classics and a 7 course tasting menu showcasing all of the flavors of the Mediterranean at Boulud Sud for $115. For lighter fare, join us in our bar and lounge open from noon daily.<br /><br />Three private wine themed dining rooms are available for private events. <br />

"Superb choices (no need to go to the supplementary priced items). Highest quality, generous portions, lovely presentation, attentive service. Could hardly have been a better experience. We went early (5:45) for an 8 o'clock curtain at Lincoln Center, and that gave us time to enjoy every bite."

"Recently reopened and transformed, Astoria's beloved little MUNDO is all grown up. "If you've ever looked for fine dining for a Saturday lunch in hectic Manhattan, you know that many fine establishments are not open at that time.
So it is a delight to find peace and great food at Brasserie 8 1/2.
Consistently high quality of service and preparation. The Lobster Bisque could not have been better, or more elegant...as bits of lobster meat are in the bowl and a cup of bisque is poured around it at the table. The bread selection is excellent too. Wines available by the glass.
It was a New Year's lunch for us, but we'll be back before another holiday rolls around."

Michael Jordan's The Steak House N.Y.C. ranks among the finest steakhouses in Manhattan, offering a world class menu and an extensive, eclectic selection of wines and spirits. There are two private dining rooms and two semi private dining rooms available, with pre-fixe menus.

"Amazingly peaceful on the open balcony over Grand Central Terminal's Main Concourse. Not intimate, but easy to have a conversation.
Classic steak and sides, of course, but the salads, soups, and un-meats get plenty of attention from the kitchen too and some are outstanding. Overall, a very high level."

"Do you suffer from a deficiency of Paris? Or a favorite restaurant in the France of your dreams? Get yourself over to Benoit. We ordered quenelles, a classic dish and OMG !!! Fabulous. Where else in NY? They pamper you with gougeres first and a sweet present as you go. The Sancerre ( by the glass) was excellent. I am coming back."

"We arrived mid-week for a late lunch. The service was leisurely; the lunch folks departed, and we had a quiet time enjoying excellent appetizers and a good glass of Gavi de Gavi. First visit. Not a roomy place, and I'll be it's noisy when filled. So off-hours for me."
