Brasserie 8 ½ achieves a delicate fusion of creativity and comfort, featuring a world-class art collection, adventurous haute French cuisine and a plush atmosphere. A luscious raw bar, Latin and Asian influenced dishes, succulent meats, and a dessert selection that is a world apart, artfully complement this glamorous setting.Visit our other great restaurants by clicking on the link below.

The Patina Restaurant Group

"Had a birthday dinner and great conversation (in conversational tones). No raised voices to compete with others. Plenty of diners, but well designed to keep the noise down. I think the food tastes better that way. PS One of the best creme brulees you'll find."

The only Indian restaurant to be awarded by Time Out New York. The 110 seat restaurant is located within the newly renovated San Carlos Hotel with a street and lobby entrance. The exotic atmosphere whisks you to Southeast Asia as soon as you open the door and spot the stone waterfall cascading down the wall. Orange, red, and fuscia drum lights are snuggled together throughout the long dining room, and painted panels of mint, yellow, and green hang over striped banquettes. There is a semi-private room complete with audio video equipment that seats 12. Mint is a labor of love for Gary Sikka, and he is taking great pride in bringing an exemplary dining experience in an atmosphere that is both tranquil and exhilarating. The definition of mint is "an aromatic refreshing herb that serves as a central ingredient in accompaniment sauces in Indian cuisine." That can also be said of the new restaurant that is its namesake.

"We came for the ever juicy chicken malai kebab appetizer and tried the saffron shrimp, which was also wonderful: aromatic, slightly sweet.
This restauarant serves the most pleasing Indian food in town, but it doesn't get enough praise. Go!

"We loved our early dinner on Labor Day. It was not crowded, so not really noisy. And there was indeed a special on a clambake dinner, different prices depending on the size lobster you chose. Not only a good deal--everything was prepared perfectly."

For nearly 35 years, Il Mulino New York has prepared authentic Abruzzese cuisine with unparalleled service.

There’s no place like Il Mulino New York. The luxury Italian restaurant’s flagship Greenwich Village outpost initiated New York’s fine Italian dining trend and is still prized in the city’s elite dining scene. Zagat has rated Il Mulino New York as Manhattan’s No. 1 Italian restaurant for decades and has said the restaurant provides "one-of-a-kind" cuisine filled with delicious flavors, creating an "outstanding Italian classic" restaurant where "every dish is a masterpiece."

Executive Chef Michele Mazza, who hails from Naples, Italy, has proudly carried this tradition since 2003. Fresh ingredients, artistic preparation and impeccable service distinguish Il Mulino New York as one of the world’s premiere restaurants. In addition to fine dining, Il Mulino New York provides excellent off-site catering and products.

"Start with a great antipasto you didn't even order -- the minute you sit down. Great bread offerings. Moving on, they will follow your requests, even to take a little time and not rush you. All pastas are available as half portions (good to know at these prices). Everything was first rate.
Holiday weekend made it really leisurely and lovely. Otherwise, it's a very popular and busy place.

"restaurant week here is a mixed bag. the food is still excellent -- wonderful and original preparations of fish and seafood, but because of the bargain, the place was a madhouse and wildly noisy when we dined on a Sunday at 6 pm. Note to self: must try off-hours next time."

CAFÉ BOULUD features a French-American menu inspired by Chef Daniel Boulud's four culinary muses: la tradition, classic French cuisine; la saison, seasonal delicacies; le potager, the vegetable garden; and le voyage, the flavors of world cuisines.

In addition to dinner seven nights, we feature a $37 two-course prix-fixe lunch six days a week, and brunch on Sundays. The restaurant is both a neighborhood gem and a destination for food lovers in search of casually elegant dining. Two private dining rooms seating 18 guest each are available for your private entertaining needs, and may be combined to accommodate 40.

The restaurant's adjacent BAR PLEIADES serves inventive cocktails and a luxurious bar menu from 3 pm onwards.

DANIEL • DB Bistro Moderne •Boulud Sud• Bar Boulud • DBGB Kitchen & Bar

"If you judge restaurants by how with-it the clientele looks, go somewhere else. This a a happy place for what I call conservative foodies who mourn the demise of the best French restaurants of years gone by and are thrilled that Daniel Boulud's combination of exquisite food and civilized settings are here to reassure us. Thanks DB!"

"My first visit to his Mediterranean themed French restaurant near Lincoln Center, and the food is much to good to rush through before attending a performance. Pencil it in following a matinee. The decor is modern, almost too cooled down. But I'll be back...so many things that I want to try."

Le Colonial is a truly delightful culinary experience. Like stepping into French Colonial Southeast Asia, this two-story restaurant, designed by Greg Jordan, consists of a main dining room with louvered wall panels, colorful tile floors, and vintage photos of Vietnam. Upstairs is an elegant, but lively, lounge serving a full dinner or just appetizers and cocktails. The lounge serves as an ideal setting for private parties and business dinners. Chef Ronald Wingwee Hsu serves an authentic Vietnamese menu with an emphasis on fresh seafood, meats, and vegetables.

"The potted palms and ceiling fans are beginning to be tired, but the food is delicious --the appetizer of baby back ribs was especially tasty.
Everyone's pleasant, but at the height of lunch hour it is on the noisy side.

The Fourth is Chef Marco A. Moreira's newest venture. Anchoring Union Square with the East Village this multifunctional expansive restaurant features a comfortable coffee bar and café, a traditional dining room, and a long stylish bar perfect for drinks and dining. Artistic features such as a photo installation, whimsically hung wood twin bed frames, local handcrafted furniture, and eco-friendly lighting are highlights in the lofty room. The American style brasserie menu features locally sourced ingredients. Super fresh oysters, roast duck for two and salt brick roasted chicken not to be missed. Accompanying it is an approachable wine list compiled by master sommelier Roger Dagorn and the owners own brand of coffee, Quatrieme. The Fourth is quickly becoming the go to place for a neighborhood breakfast, weekend Jazz brunch events, bar dining and lunch and dinner celebrations. We look forward to seeing you at THE FOURTH!
.
