The hidden gem of Santana Row, Thea is a celebration of Mediterranean cuisine with highlights from Greece & Turkey. An expansive bar & lounge features creative vodka infusions & a selection of Mediterranean & California wines. Authentic Greek art, a 20-foot olive tree & a stylish contemporary setting complete the experience. "I've never written one of these before, but my recent experience needs to be shared.
Three of us dined here before seeing a movie in the CineArts theater next door. What a natural pairing. Thea should be well-practiced in how to get diners out quickly to see a movie. It would certainly be something to promote. So we sit down at 6 and let the server know we needed to leave by 7. We ordered simple items: an appetizer plate and 3 skewers. There were literally 4 tables in the whole restaurant with diners. It was practically empty. That should have been a clue to go elsewhere. We didn't get our entrees until 7:05. And the chicken wasn't all the way cooked. The server gave us the excuse that the kitchen was understaffed. The manager came over and said, no the kitchen isn't understaffed. He comped one of the entrees, the calculation on the bill was wrong, they had to take the bill back and re-do it...just a mess. We barely made the movie's start time, but the frustration lasted for a while.
We won't be back.
