Located in the trendy and fashionable Bethesda Row, Lebanese Taverna serves authentic Middle Eastern fare in a casual yet stylish setting. The menu boasts over 25 appetizers and salads as well as a variety of grilled lamb, beef, chicken and fish entrees. There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes, too. To complement your dining experience, choose from our award-winning wine list or specialty cocktails. The restaurant is child-friendly and great for groups of all sizes.

"The hummus and baba ghanjouj are favorites. The kibbeh sandwich was a little dry but I added some of the oil with zataar to improve the moistness. I asked our server to remove the red onions from the side salad and he didn't but that was the only misstep, service-wise (he seemed very young).
The dining room is large so can accommodate all manner of guests, from a couple to a large group. The bar area is also large which is a nice option if you want a more casual setting.

NOW OPEN FOR BRUNCH ON SUNDAYS

“Start early, finish late …” Welcome to Policy Restaurant and Lounge
Our idea for Policy, is to be the first and final stop of the evening.

One of DC’s hottest Restaurant and Lounge, located in the vibrant U Street neighborhood, this upscale diner motif like main floor, Love Dining Room and the airy second floor, the Liberty Lounge, this space extends the sentiment of being free and savvy. Decorated with brilliant chandeliers and art work by Andrew funk and Drew Nussbaum, Policy offers two levels of charm and class in a hip and inviting environment.

The restaurant provides an intimate feel not only for couples but for a group of people catching up. We’ve taken Global Flavors and infused them with American cuisine adding a unique spin.

"Our server was very attentive until she got busy but we weren't in a hurry. The bar took too long with drinks but again, they got slammed. We enjoyed some happy hour items before using our coupon. I'm blanking on what we had but it was all tasty. Obviously a popular local spot and we'd come back when in that neighborhood."

"We usually enjoy the happy hour at PassionFish but since it was Restaurant Week, we sat in the dining room. I had requested a table on the main level because I find the upper level too far away. Our server was obviously experienced so knew the menu and the wine list well. Even though it was very busy, he was efficient, at least until our main course was served, at which point another team member took over our table (which was fine). The calamari was fantastic - kung pao style with peanuts and hot peppers. The crab cakes were perfect - plenty of meat, not a lot of filler. My beau enjoyed the lobster bisque and fish (hmm, can't remember which one now).
A great meal!

If you are looking for a unique place to go for brunch, lunch, or dinner, Brasserie Monte Carlo is the place to go. Stepping into the restaurant, one can not help but notice the beautiful mural (designed by Dianne Hoppman) that takes up the whole right wall, and the rustic decor that helps add warmth to the room. Sonny Abraham owner/chef of Brasserie Monte Carlo has been in the restaurant business since 1985. Sonny has done a wonderful job of staffing his restaurant with only the best. He personally completed his culinary training in Lausanne, Switzerland and his matre d' worked at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, DC. It is truly a team effort at Brasserie Monte Carlo, at times you may even see Sonny waiting on a table to help his staff out, or helping in the kitchen or even providing wine service. Sonny's goal is to bring the taste of Washington's well known restaurants to downtown Bethesda but for a fraction of the cost maintaining quality, value and service.

"I had a coupon so that prompted my first visit to the Brasserie. It was a quiet night in advance of a snowstorm and the waiter was on his own (someone called in sick) but he was very attentive, knowledgeable and polite. Loved the pasta appetizer with peas and lardon, as well as the pork tenderloin with mustard cream sauce. My beau enjoyed the onion soup and duck breast. We both took our dessert home - the green apple tart - delicious!
The menu features traditional dishes, well-executed and presented. I'm sure it's a favorite among Bethesda locals.

"An office lunch for 9 turned into almost a 3 hour event because the service was very slow. Although I am not a frequent customer, it seemed that this group of lunch time servers was very young and overwhelmed by the holiday crowds. That said, our server did her best e.g. accommodated one diner's request for the regular menu vs. the family dining, and refilled plates as requested. The best dish continues to be the mushroom ravioli.
Maggiano's is not the choice if you are watching calories but for a group and/or festive occasion, it's hard to beat.

Virtue is a modern American tavern located near the Potomac River in Old Town, Alexandria. Our menu offers an array of farm-fresh food and refreshing cocktails to please your tastebuds, and a vibrant atmosphere to make for an enjoyable dining experience at any time of day! Housed in a historic feed & grain warehouse from the late 1800s, Virtue's stunning rustic modern decor is sure to impress.

"It was a rainy December afternoon before Christmas so we were seated downstairs (apparently, the upstairs isn't usually open until dinner). Our server was enthusiastic, pleasant and efficient. My lunch companion enjoyed the mac 'n cheese and a simple salad. I had the calamari and a wedge salad. The cocktail offerings are interesting, the beer and wine list extensive. I will certainly return when in Alexandria."
