"The thing I like most about this restaurant is the outdoor deck-very nice and in a quiet area. The only unfortunate thing was smelly garbage trucks going by at lunch hour. The service was outstanding. Food was very good."

Built in 1790 as a barn and named for local farmer John Kittle, the farm to table connection that began back then continues today at Crabtree's Kittle House. Internationally renowned for its Wine Spectator Grand Award wine list, superlative hospitality and contemporary American cuisine, it is a sophisticated country dining experience located only 45 minutes from Manhattan. Whether stopping in for a casual meal in the Tap Room or planning a formal intimate celebration from 2 to 200 guests, you'll find something for everyone and every occasion at Crabtree's Kittle House. The culinary team focuses on the local bounty of the Hudson Valley, from the casual Tap Room menu of salads, LaFrieda burgers & fresh cold shellfish to the more refined cuisine on the a la carte and Chef's Tasting menus, available in both the Tap Room & Dining Room. And nowhere is there a greater selection of fine wines (5000!) and other libations. Also a Bed & Breakfast, there are 13 rooms for overnight accommodations

"The service is really excellent as was the food. Our waiter was wonderful. There is one glaring thing: the chairs are so old there are depressions in them where people have been sitting. Please fix this, they are not comfortable."

"The atmosphere is nice, a little too dark, too noisy but well decorated. They were understaffed, and the kitchen was having some problems. The first dish they brought was the wrong one and the replacement was COLD, not even cooked (ricotta gnudi). This was taken care of and the food was good- seasoning creative and excellent. The dessert (apple pie) was also too cool- dish was hot but the pastry was not. Coffee was mediocre. My husband, however, had an excellent steak and cheese plate. Wish they had non alcoholic salad dressing options. The roasted vegetable side with the steak was outstanding. Where are the donuts my friend raved about?"
