"Went for restaurant week and was not disappointed. Look forward to returning. While the choices were limited they were excellent."

"We dined on a Friday night and couldn't be more pleased. Our waiter was great-spent plenty of time and thoroughly explained the dishes and how best to order. We chose the Friday special-a succulent Maine lobster that was quite a bit larger than what you usually get. The squash soup that accompanied the dish and the panna cotta were both great-very tasty and well presented. The other order consisted of the fish stew chowder-also very good with a lot of fish, followed by the razor clams(excellent taste but too small) and then the oysters and beef tartare. The last one is a bit unusual and interesting-the oysters for me were the best part.
Quite an experience-excellent food in a noisy place and one that is quite pricey.

"I now understand why it is so difficult to get a reservation-the food and overall experience was terrific. I can't say enough about the wait staff-attentive, very pleasant and helpful. We shared the mussels-a very good amount(more than many other places) which was absolutely delicious. This dish was ordered by all of the surrounding tables. We then enjoyed the arugula salad with duck confit and followed it by one of the fish specials. I would eat here every week if I lived in Charleston. This is a not miss restaurant-just reserve weeks in advance."

SIMPLY LOWCOUNTRY: Lowcountry Bistro focuses only on the freshest ingredients since all of the food we cook is from scratch. On the menu you will find cult favorites like Chicken and Waffles to Lowcountry classics like Shrimp and Grits. We also believe that great food can be affordable. Many of our lunch dishes are under $10.

Our goal as a restaurant is to serve high quality, delicious food, at a fair price. We hope you agree after your meal at Lowcountry Bistro.

SISTER RESTAURANT TO 82 QUEEN
As an icon of the city for over 30 years, we have seen restaurants come and go. We pride ourselves on the fact that we were one of the first original Lowcountry cuisine restaurants to open their doors in the city. We know Lowcountry and after diligently researching Market Street restaurants, have come to the conclusion that what the area needs is a true, authentic Lowcountry restaurant.

"Although we had seen some mixed reviews, our experience was quite good. Service was attentive. Food was very decent. Fried okra and shrimp and grits were quite good. Atmosphere is simple and pleasant. I would return for a good solid meal."

The Old Village Post House is a neighborhood tavern and inn nestled in Mount Pleasant’s historic Old Village. In feel and décor, it’s as comfortable as your best friend’s home – from the original worn pine floors to our lively tavern. We delight in the quality of our producers and devote ourselves to skillful preparation that brings joy to both maker and guest. We believe the tastiest fare is even better with noteworthy wines and cocktails. And, we believe in only the warmest hospitality, whether you're joining us for an event, a cocktail, brunch, dinner or an overnight stay.

"We were greatly impressed with the overall experience. Service was very impressive and attentive. Food well prepared and presented. Loved the atmosphere and would want to eat outside(unfortunately it was drizzling on our night) as it is quite attractive. When I return to Charleston, I will definitely visit the Old Village Post house again."

"Still can't figure out why this place is so busy except that it is so convenient. Food, at best is fair. Turkey burger was bland, sweet potato fries were underdone, artichoke salad was fair at best and the lobster tacos were nothing to write home about. And what about paying 4.50 for an iced tea? Anyway, the service was great-very attentive and relaxed and timely when we asked for things and to be able to sit outside on a nice night is terrific. The food just needs major improvement."
