On a typical Friday night at J. Trani's Ristorante, a visit to the dining room reveals a host of family and friends and the bar is bustling with a crowd that can only be described as enthusiastic. Most of the crowds are long time friends, but even those who aren't are made to feel like one of the family.

"We occasionally visit j. Trani and they never disappoint. From the moment you are greeted to the time you walk out, their service is top notch. Our waitress, whom we've had before, was always on top of things. We had the calamari and ceviche as an appetizer-both delicious. The Trani salad has a perfect blend of favors. I had the rib eye, cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. There is a sauce that does not overwhelm the flavor of the steak. Other in my party had the swordfish, butternut gnocchi, and potato/prosciutto pizza. All delicious."

"The Caesar salad made tableside was the best course. I usually order the rib eye at steak joints, but ordered from the prefix menu. The filets were cooked to perfection inside, but the outside I thought was too charred. I Would consider myself a connoisseur of steak and have dined at the best around the country. This steak lacked flavor. I don't order sauces with my steak, but probably should have for this one. Also ordered the green beans, good flavor, schezuan I believe, but limp and way over done, Mac and cheese was bland, and creamed spinach tasted fine but with the consistency of baby food. Perhaps other steaks here are better? Service was okay."

"Don't look at the menu if you're hungry. Everything sounds delicious. We had the yellowtail ceviche. Fish was good quality, it tasted good, but over priced. I had the lamb mole. It was a very healthy portion and delicious. The mole was unique, unlike any authentic mole, but delicious. My wife had the scallops. She very much enjoyed the sauce served with it. We had the flan for desert. Also very good. I will return to try some other items that sounded good. Decor is nice. Seats are close together, so not so romantic since your neighbors are practically at the same table. Service was a little slow, but very friendly."
