"This place several years back was great. This past weekend was lousy. The smell of Clorox was everywhere, and we felt we were eating in a bathroom! The food quality was average - the chicken in the tikka was tough and fatty. The crowd was off - the vibe worse. For a Sat at 9, we made the wrong choice..."

Welcome to Ruth's Chris Steak House. As founder Ruth Fertel used to say, "If you've ever had a filet this good, welcome back." We take steak seriously, but we're also serious about making sure you have a good time. So you won't find the stodgy, uptight attitude you might find at other steak houses. Our SouthPark location, created in the classic Southern style, features a spacious dining room and private dining areas. Surrounded by dark hardwoods and artisan tiling, you'll feel as if you're back in New Orleans. All beef is USDA Prime, prepared in 1800 degree broilers and served on 500 degree plates, and all accoutrements inspired by Ruth's New Orleans heritage. Let us know of any specific requests for an evening with that special someone, and we'll take care of the details. Life's too short to eat anywhere else.

"The food felt a little "pre cooked" - someone at our table compared it to a "glorified red lobster" - the steak was soaking in butter, our clothes needed to be washed the day after (felt as if we just ate at the Benihana). I had a great visit 2-3 years ago. I think they're changed the quality of the ingredients. It felt flat. The wine list was well priced. And the server was terrifically attentive. But it's not a place that I will go back to (and Del Frisco's, Sullivans, and others were full so that's why we defaulted here too)...."

"Don't get the quail - totally disappointing - small, way undercooked - and visually hard to digest. The waiter, engaged upfront, totally disappeared mid-meal - perhaps we shouldn't have reserved the 9:30 pm table. The table was tiny for two - and dirty dishes were not taken away as more food arrived. It feels new and experimental - and while the vibe is cool, I would only go back for a glass of wine and the cheese board!"
