"EQUINOX and its talented Chef Todd Gray make for a very solid evening of dining. This is a place where it is always good to ask what is fresh in the kitchen, and the result will not be disappointing. They now have a modified Happy Hour with quite a fine variety of well priced small plates and very decent wines. I think Equinox is especially good for seafood and pasta--Chef has a magical touch with pasta!"

"Anything you ever heard about Le Bernardin remains true. We had an outstanding evening at the perfect table we had requested. The staff and kitchen made this memorable. Everything was great--I had the dover sole--truly magnificent."

"This was our 5th or 6th visit to Circa over the last year or so. The quality remains very high and the sensibly sized menu always a treat. Two guests were amazed at the pheasant--just great and so was the lamb--like the pheasant--done with variations on the plate---not just a lump of meat, but an innovation/invention. Circa is a very talented kitchen of sustained high quality, and so isn't the overall management of the restaurant and wine program--so we recommend highly to all."

"We had a very nice special evening for a little celebration. Everything was very nice, and we even had the Rest Week Menu with an added pasta portion. While all the food was excellent, the RW steak was out of sight ( with rosemary )--just outstanding and perfectly cooked. The management of this restaurant is top notch--and that makes it easier for the kitchen to deliver it promise. We like Casa Luca very much and always ready to return."

"We visit Casa Luca about every six weeks or so and thoroughly enjoy the bar when it is not too crowded, and always dinner at their many nice tables. The senior staff and servers are all professional and engaged with the customers, and the restaurant manager is on the spot with everything. We enjoyed pasta selections and a variety of smaller dishes so we could eat "tapas" style. Everything was great as always."

"Todd Gray and his loyal staff operate an excellent restaurant that keeps up with the times. The menu is interesting and features the products of local farmers. The design of the restaurant is interesting as well--a more formal space inside, also a covered atrium and a real outside plaza. The bar is medium size with chairs and tables. You can dine simply here or have a very grand chef's menu. We especially like his high and pasta."

Chef Mike Isabella opened Kapnos along the Fourteenth Street Corridor in July 2013. Isabella draws inspiration from Northern Greece to create a menu of spreads, breads, vegetables and other small plates, including his signature wood-grilled octopus. Two wood-fire grills with rotating spits and a large oven for stone-baked flat breads service the 160-seat restaurant. Guests enjoy carvings from whole animals that have been spit-roasted all day, including lamb, goat, duck, chicken, and suckling pig. Kapnos is open for dinner seven nights a week.

"We went this time for Happy Hour and stayed for dinner at the bar. The Happy Hour is spectacular, featuring some of their finest items along with good wines. For dinner we had about 6 different things and ate "tapas" style. Everything was great--we especially liked the octopus and spanakopeta. KAPNOS is a really solid restaurant as is its adjacent little brother, Restaurant G!"

"Congratulations to the chef and kitchen for continuing to produce such high quality food. Two of us had dover sole, grilled to perfection including the little grill marks and excellent sauce. Wine list is quite nicely developed and a bit pricey, but some good bottles at lower 2 digit range. Busboys were also excellent, as is the ever present and charming host."

TICO, an affectionate name for a local in Costa Rica, is gently influenced by chef/owner Michael Schlow’s travels to Spain, Mexico and Latin America, and was named one of the “Best New Restaurants in America” by Esquire magazine. The rustic space evokes a sense of communal dining with smaller, tapas-style options to share, offering whimsical dishes that creatively blend flavors from all over the world. TICO has a playful, inviting vibe as it boasts an open kitchen with six stools at the ceviche bar to observe the behind-the-scenes action. TICO offers an extensive beverage program including draft and craft cocktails, local breweries and wines from Central and South American, Spain and the US.

"TICO is a large space that was well constructed to try and manage sound; it has a food bar, regular bar and two dining spaces--and an open kitchen--all very nice. I thought the food was good but not at the level of other new 14th street places. Pitcher of margaritas was a pitcher of ice with some margarita! Overall management of the dining room needs improvement--many employees rushing around almost at random--walking distances but not checking tables on the way back. Coordination between bar, waiter and table drink delivery poor. Some food came very quickly--like 2 minutes, well before drinks. Waiters are trained to obviously push-push-push. In the end, needs team bonding/training/staff peripheral vision and attention to timing and tempo."

"AP is a solid addition to the Walkers Point restaurant scene. We like the wide variety of menu items, always comfortably priced and served by a happy staff that engages the customers without being intrusive. The drinks at the bar are also interesting, and they have a wide variety. We like the setting along with menu items such as special fried shrimp, bur rata, fried chicken with an asian twist, fresh oysters, a great burger, grilled romaine salad--just to name a few. Really a great place."
