A chic and sophisticated décor provides the setting for our distinctive "world cuisine", a provocative mix of zesty influences that creates a delightful dining experience in Palm Springs, California. Plush high-backed semicircular banquettes surround our dining room and offer comfortable and private seating. The cuisine has a light, exotic feel with an emphasis on Pacific Rim specialties, from Chilean Sea Bass baked in Banana Leaves or Kahlua-Barbecued Pork Chops to all sorts of tasty tapas, salads, wood-fired pizzas, and desserts. The Coral Seas Lounge, a hip mid-century style bar is lined with sexy black leather bar-stools and is reminiscent of the upbeat lounges of old Palm Springs. It wraps around the dining room and leads outside to a lush, tropical, 2000 square foot dining patio where a variety of specialty cocktails and old-school favorites are mixed - an ideal place where friends gather and martinis are sipped under the starlit desert sky.

"We have eaten happily at Tropicale on five or more past occasions, enjoying the food, participating in the lively scene, and benefiting from Tammy's so very personalized service. But last week's dinner was an unexpected downer. The menu, formerly interesting and creative, has now become weird. We had difficulty finding dishes we wanted to try. And the kitchen now seems to think that everything tastes better buried under kosher salt. We could only conclude that a new chef has taken control. Let's hope his or her tenure is a short one."

Grasing’s, located in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, lies along the Pacific Coast in Central California in Monterey County. It is 120 miles south of San Francisco, 70 miles south of San Jose and 350 miles north of Los Angeles.

Celebrity chef partners, Kurt Grasing and Narsai David, truly created a gem. Fancifully designed in warm hues and modern art work, Grasing’s sets the stage for entertaining that is at once festive and intimate. From friendly and professional service, an award winning wine list and seasonally inspired cocktails to the fresh and sustainable local ingredients are only a few reasons why Grasing’s still receives rave reviews from the press. Just recently, Grasing’s was awarded “Restaurant of the Year” and “Business of the Year” by the Carmel Business Association. Chef Grasing was also honored recently by the American Culinary Federation and received an award for “Chef of the Year”.

"The dining room at Grasing's is quite lovely, a rather intimate setting with tables draped in white linen. But how disappointing was the food! I began with the signature onion tart, which I expected to be like the flavorful, crusty Alsatian version. No, it was a gelatinous glop paired with oily fried onion strings. My main dish was pork ... over-cooked and tasteless. I hope that it was just a bad night in the kitchen."
