PTNYC's Reviews

Magical is a word thrown around a lot when discussing Tavern On The Green and one can’t help but feel magic in the air. Jim and David, architect Richard Lewis and landscape architect Robin Key, preserved the Victorian/ Gothic elegance of the semi-circular building; it is authentic, natural, elegant and sexy. It has been re-built to spectacular precision and the décor is of a grand farmhouse one might find on the property of an Italian Villa or a historic Hudson River Valley mansion.

"The food is delicious, but not necessarily worth the price; it's the whole package experience that is. If you're going to TOTG, it's to dine in an iconic NYC spot that we're fortunate is still around. The interior and exterior views are both beautiful, and the service is top notch."

Fraunces Tavern Restaurant, is one of the city's most historic landmarks in the downtown Financial District. Fraunces Tavern Restaurant offers a large range of small batch and specialty beers, serving traditional American food. The building holds eight different rooms each offering unique public and private dining experiences. Invite friends to sit around the warm fire in the Dingle Whiskey Bar or hold a formal dinner under the crystal chandeliers in the Washington Room. If you're looking for something more informal, step into The Hideout off of the Water Street entrance to watch TV and meet friends for happy hour. And don't forget to make your way upstairs to the Bourbon Lounge to relax in large leather sofas and enjoy food and beverages from the bar. If you're a history buff, visit the Bissell room where you can't miss the beautiful mural painting done in 1717, depicting downtown New York City.

"The food is excellent, the beer list is extreme, and the Jazz followed by Irish music is so much fun. I will definitely be stopping by for a drink in their Dingle Whiskey Lounge by the fireplace. While our waitress was attentive and friendly, my only complaint is that the hostess was MIA for about 15 minutes leaving us waiting at the front. The place was mostly empty when we got there, but it took three attempts to get another employee to seat us. Despite that, everything else was perfect!"

"I have never had a better meal or dining experience rolled into one. The atmosphere is beautifully romantic, accented by a pianist, and the waitstaff are incredibly gracious and attentive. Additionally, the food is unlike anything I've ever had before; the chef is clearly a master at his craft."
