Opening in 2006, Liv’s Oyster Bar quickly became a dining destination in Old Saybrook. Inspired by his daughter, Olivia, and years of experience in the restaurant industry, owner John Brescio set out with a desire to welcome the community to his family’s table. Dining at Liv’s, whether in the main room, at the bar, or on the patio, is an experience to be savored with friends and family long after summer on the shoreline has past. The combination of easy comfort and really good food makes Liv’s Oyster Bar in Old Saybrook such a find' - The NY Times.

"We had the seafood sampler. The best thing about it was everything was chilled perfectly. The flavor was enhanced by the chilling. We also shared some octopus, crab cake and yellowfin tartare. Every dish was tasty. I originally ordered banana cream pie but the waiter came back and said the chef wouldn't let him serve it because it hadn't set correctly. I then opted for the pistachio gelato. I lucked out because this dessert was perfect."

"One of the greatest overall spots in Ct; it has it all: the river, the Goodspeed, the bridge. Very romantic. But, fine dining, not so much. It was my wife's birthday and I wanted something special. I had a Guienness at the bar, not on tap, from a can, which is OK. But when I asked for a Black and Tan at the table, I was told by the waiter that they couldn't do it? I ordered from the menu: a "aged rib eye steak" only to be told they "were out of rib eyes". They did have the new your strip, slightly overcooked and dry. They took the liberty of cutting it for me? My wife's shrimp scampy was also uninspired. The shrimp was overcooked. I would go back for the beer garden outside and have the lamb burger and a cold beer."
