The surreal atmosphere of this awe-inspiring restaurant in the Meatpacking district of Manhattan
combines the serenity of Asia with the flamboyance of 16th century Paris. The menu features fanciful interpretations of Chinese dishes and delights even the most discriminating palates.

"I booked a table at Buddakan for my best friend's bachelorette party. The entire evening was a blast and the staff we interacted with made it their mission to ensure we had a great celebration. It took a bit for us to get seated but the restaurant sent over some appetizers to compensate so all was well. We decided to do one of the Tasting menus -- there are no words to that would do justice to how delicious our entire meal was. From edamame dumplings, to soup dumplings, to a wonderful sole dish and the divine black cod. From crispy chicken in chile sauce, to cold noodles with cashews, calamari salad and the most amazing shortribs & scallops, every bite was divine. You can't go wrong at Buddakan. + they have a sake sommelier = cool!"

Sette is Italian for seven, the traditional "lucky" number. The restaurant design is comfortable with a traditional Italian tone, and with a great "feel and flow." Sette Osteria is a destination place for people as well as a place for people walking in the area to come in and enjoy.

Decor: Sette Osteria has an open kitchen and an action station viewable by guests. Pizzas are cooked in a wood-burning pizza oven.

The best decor in a restaurant is people. Windows give guests a view of the active passing scenes on busy Connecticut Avenue and R Streets. And, people walking by are able to view a very inviting and appealing restaurant. The decor is soft and appealing but still carries a theme of sophisticated Italian culture and international buzz. Guests can view the young people going in and out of the chic clothing stores Benetton and Sisley.

"My boyfriend and I went for another meal at Sette and, as always, loved the experience. This time we sat in their outdoor patio which was lovely given the wonderful summer evening. Sette consistently provides wonderful food and service. We shared a special burrata appetizer they were offering and their mussels napoletana as apps. I followed with the veal piccata while my boyfriend had the filet mignon. Everything was delic. Sette is one of our go-to neighborhood restaurants for a casual yummy meal."

"I won't go into too many details since I've written many positive reviews of Oyamel and this last trip continues the streak. I did try their "Agua Frescas" for the first time -- described as a Mexican specialty of "fresh fruit and water". It was a perfectly crisp refreshing drink on a hot DC Sunday AM. The flavor I picked was Cherry passion -- sweet enough but not too sweet. Don't hesitate to try these lovely refreshers."

"I've reviewed El Centro D.F. Georgetown before so I will keep this short -- I met a friend here for an early dinner and we (as expected) had a lovely time. Our server recommended some items to us and I accepted the recc for the Chicken Zarape. It was so very tasty -- the creamy/cheesy rice was wonderful and a nice twist of regular rice and the sauce accompanying the chicken was well balanced and super flavorful. I told my friend how much I enjoyed the Pork Cazuela on my last visit and she chose and thoroughly enjoyed that. All in all, we had a great meal (and enjoyed the fact it was Margarita Wednesday!)"

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"I brought my mom to Le Diplomate for brunch when she was in town visiting and she loved it. I had been trying to take her here on previous visits but never managed to snag a reservation. She thoroughly enjoyed her eggs Benedict. I went off script and ordered the duck confit skillet (not the actual name of the dish) -- it was divine (duck confit with perfectly grilled potatoes and a sunny side up egg); my belly was happy. We also split the basket of pastries to start and they were delicious."

"This was my third time at Mourayo. While the quality of the food was wonderful as ever, I have to note the unfortunately slow start to our meal. We sat for 20 minutes without putting in a drink or food order and there was an unusually long interlude between appetizers and entrees. My previous experiences at Mourayo have been fantastic so I hope this was an off night for the establishment. As for the food, there was a special of Cod keftedes with a leek sauce that were divine. The grilled Sardine appetizer was also fantastic. I ate the pork loin with figs and honey sauce which was unreal -- just a perfect flavor pairing that I am still thinking about days after my meal. I will be back to Mourayo because the food is just that good."

"This was my first visit to El Centro's Georgetown location and I have to say I prefer it (hands down) to the original location on 14th Street. The restaurant was crowded but my dinner companions and I were able to have a conversation, the server was knowledgeable about the offerings and steered me to a most excellent entree and the margaritas were superb. I will definitely be back."
