Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

"I love Le Diplomate and have been and reviewed it numerous times before. I won't spill too much ink on the food (which was excellent as always) but I do want to note that our server did a wonderful job of catering to my two year old niece who was with us. She accommodated our request for an Espresso cup so my niece could drink from a glass she could hold, wasn't phased when we had a spillage accident and expertly and without reproach offered to replace the paper table liner and provide more napkins. It is great when servers take the little ones in stride. Thank you."

"I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Marmalade. Once again, we had a memorable evening full of delicious tastes and smells. My boyfriend and I opted for the 5-course tasting menu with wine pairings and every bite was exquisite. We both started with two different beet courses, followed by the signature white bean soup , and had lobster risotto and a duck confit terrine that was covered by mashed yams (shepard's pie esque for our third), then halibut cheeks for him and Turbot for me. We finished with a cheese course and the bread pudding. I couldn't do the food justice if I described the various dishes in detail but one over-arching theme is that the flavors were harmonious, innovative, satisfying and YUMMY! The wine pairings selected for each course matched perfectly and were varied and interesting. Lastly, our server was wonderful -- he was knowledgeable, attentive and helpful (and not just with the meal -- he gave us some beach recommendations to boot!) I'd like to add that just after finishing our 3+ hr meal, my boyfriend and I walked down the Callejon del Gambaro which runs near the restaurant and he PROPOSED! Needless to say, our wonderful meal at Marmalade was an excellent prelude to that happy event. By itself it was a meal worthy of remembering, but now it's a meal I will never forget. My now fiance and I always visit Marmalade on our trips to PR but our future visits will be all the more special because of this weekend's developments. Thank you Marmalade for being a part of our story."

"My boyfriend and I went to Unum during restaurant week and could not have had a more fabulous meal. The cocktails that accompanied restaurant week were yummy, the service was attentive and the food was interesting and exquisite. I started with the roasted bone marrow (a first for me) and loved it. Every other course we had was delightful and we look forward to adding Unum into our rotation of regular go-to locales."

Marc Murphy teamed up with his wife Pamela Schein Murphy to open their first restaurant, Landmarc (Tribeca), in April 2004. It has since become a neighborhood favorite, serving contemporary bistro fare that blends French and Italian favorites with an award-winning wine list, all at reasonable prices, in a cutting-edge Tribeca setting.

"This was my second visit to Bar Boulud -- this time I introduced my parents to the deliciousness that is the restaurant. They opted for the prix fixe while I ordered off the regular menu. Everything we had was delicious and the attention to detail is excellent -- my dad dropped his napkin on the floor and as I picked it up to shake it out one of the staff approached with a replacement napkin (we hadn't even asked). Bar Boulud no doubt benefits from its location across from Lincoln Center (we were there pre-performance) -- the restaurant made note of this and ensured we were served in a timely fashion so we made our performance without rushing. I will definitely be back (whether or not I'm headed to Lincoln Center afterwards)."

"I recently went to Sarabeth's for dinner for the first time. The tomato soup was excellent but I think everything else (the bread given, the entree options) just weren't as yummy as those that are offered at brunch. I love Sarabeth's and will keep coming back but I may stick to brunch."

La Chaumiere is as close as it gets to dining in a French country inn. Now entering its 39th year, La Chaumiere features traditional dishes like escargots en coquille, boudin blanc, quenelles of pike, cassoulet and Grand Marnier souffle. Chef Patrick's specials reflect a modern approach to seasonal produce, seafood and game with favorites like baked oysters, Dover sole and rabbit. La Chaumiere has won the "100 Best Restaurants" award 29 times since 1978!
