"it's a commitment fo get to for those of us who like city dining with taxis and nearby bars for an evening out... but it is totally worth it. even my boyfriend who is not a seafood fan found plenty of options on the menu. this restaurant is a MUST for seafood lovers, and even their friends and family. fantastic service brining one great dish after another."

Stephen Starr brings his signature brand of hospitality and design to the nation’s capital with the opening of Le Diplomate, located at 14th & Q. Serving lunch, brunch and dinner, the stylish 260 seat restaurant transports diners to the beloved cafés of Boulevard Saint-Germain in Paris. The extensive menu features a variety of classic dishes including Onion Soup Gratinee, Steak Frites, and Poulet Roti as well as contemporary bistro fare, with dishes such as Shaved Veal Tongue with Mache and Bavette de Boeuf à l’Echalote. A thoughtfully curated wine list and cocktail program perfectly complements the cuisine and creates an environment suitable for romantic dinners or lively group gatherings. In warmer weather, enjoy dining "en plein air" in the stunning outdoor café where you can take in the bustling energy of DC while sipping on the perfect kir royale.

A classic American gathering place, the District Chophouse & Brewery is conveniently located 1/2 block South of The Verizon Center. We pride ourselves in serving the city's finest handcrafted beers and succulent steaks, mouthwatering chops, tasty seafood, and over-sized salads. Once you've eaten here, you'll agree the 'DC' stands for District Chophouse.

"i don't know why saturday night at 7:45 seemed to have the restaurant in the weeds. we had to wait although we arrived on time for our reservation. our server was PAINFULLY slow - it took 20 minutes 3 of our group of 4 to get our drinks (she forgot the 4th), let alone order. then the food arrived at that same pace, almost 45 minutes later. it was ok, but my steak was overdone and i wasn't about to wait another 40+ minutes to flag down the server and hope the kitchen could turn it around any faster. the valet was also really slow retrieving our car at 10:30pm. the only thing that happened fast was our server brining us our bill - TACKY! first and last time i'll dine there."

Celebrity Chef Todd English is bringing a taste of Mexico to Washington DC by name of MXDC. An exciting new addition to an area in close proximity to the White House, MXDC brings a fresh perspective on Mexican cuisine while adding liveliness to an area known more for politics and business. This modern Mexican restaurant caters to business professionals whether they are looking to have a lunch meeting, let loose at happy hour with one of their signature margaritas, or just satisfying a craving for some delicious food. English appointed J.C. Pavlovich, who hails from Tijuana, to helm the kitchen. Iron Chef America fans may recognize Pavlovich from his reoccurring role as a sous chef on the show- he has supported Julian Medina and Bobby Flay.

General Manager: Mcgarrit Franco

Jaleo brings alive the spirit and flavors of Spain with a menu reflecting the rich regional diversity of classical and contemporary Spanish cuisine, under the direction of renowned chef José Andrés. Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as savory paellas, superb sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines and Sherries in a festive, casual atmosphere.

"From service to ambiance to food, Jaleo DC seems to have higher standards than the Crystal City location. J-CC was still good, but hold out for the DC restaurant for a better overall dining experience."

The lifestyle and food culture celebrated on an estancia, a large South American vineyard estate, is the inspiration for Victor Albisu’s flagship restaurant in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The airy, 174-seat agrarian space is home to a meat-driven, wine-centric menu that is a product of Albisu’s Latin American roots and travels throughout Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay.

"go to fogo de chao for the same salty meat and then stop by del campo for dessert. loved the decor (we good one of the good booths, but would have been sad with one of the cramped tables), but the service wasn't attentive and the presentation is off-mark (food served on cold skillets and tepid 'grills,' trying to evoke the restaurant's claimed theme without the effort or thought). when i sent back my steak because it wasn't close to being cooked to order, they clearly charred the same piece of meat, leaving my dish dry and very unevenly cooked. the apps were ok, but the presentation of the rolls with special oil and salt tasted like a smoky and slightly undercooked mcmuffin. good deserts, though."
